Marion and Debra parked their car outside the police station.

Pedro spotted them from afar and jogged over, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Mr. and Mrs. Houston, you're finally here."

From his anxious looks, Debra could tell how much chaos Drake had stirred up inside the station.

"Is he inside?" she asked.

"Yes. Please, just take him away. I can't take it anymore," Pedro pleaded, clasping his hands together.

Debra raised an eyebrow. "Drake surely knows how to make a scene."

"I'm not going in," Marion said, twirling his car keys. "Or he won't say a thing."

"But he called for you. Are you sure?"

"Not interested in seeing him."

"Alright."

Inside the police station, Drake was lounging in a chair, his hands cuffed in front of him.

Two interrogators stood before him, bowing and apologizing.

"We're sorry for recognizing you in those clothes, Mr. Lowe."

"Exactly, Mr. Lowe. We thought you were joking. Please, take off the handcuffs."

"I'm not taking them off," Drake said lazily, leaning back in the chair. "Bring Marion over and let him do it."

"Let him wear them if he likes," a calm voice cut through the room.

Drake's face instantly darkened. The two interrogators turned toward the door, where Debra stood. It was as if a ray of hope had pierced their grim situation.

"Why should I..."

"Transporting machines, wasn't it? And I heard about a severed hand. Let me guess. Kale's doing, right?"

Drake's face darkened, and she added, "Guess I'm right. It seems like you're the mastermind behind all this. In that case, I'll ask Mr. Hardy to contact the Orkgate police and have them escort you back."

She snatched the key out of his hand, and Drake shot up from his chair.

"What the hell are you doing? Give it back."

"Didn't you say you didn't want to unlock the cuffs? Guess that means you're admitting your guilt."

"You're..."

"Yikes, the news of Mr. Lowe being detained in Seamar City is going to make waves. I'll call up the media and have them publish this tonight. You'll go viral before you're transferred back."
