Ansel wiped his tears and reached for her. "I know I made a mistake, Mom. Can you hold me one last time?"

She looked at him but didn't reach for him. "It's too little, too late, Ansel."

"There we go." Sabrina turned to Jordan and Ansel. "This should be our last time seeing each other."

Jordan paled when he heard that. He knew this meant she was leaving this world forever.

Ansel started crying again. "Where are you going, Mom? I don't want you to leave!"

"You're almost six, Ansel. That means you're going to start school soon. You need to stop crying like this," Sabrina said.
