For the first time in my life, I lie down with a gorgeous woman in my arms, and I'm not bothered. I kiss her good night on her head while running my fingers on her back, and there's no awkward moment.

" I love you, Abby."

I find my bed empty when I wake up. I call Abby, but there's no response. I quickly get up and pick up my boxers on the floor. I start searching her in every corner of this penthouse, but Abby is nowhere to find.

She just fucking left me, and she didn't even fucking say goodbye. That's it. And this is what I'm trying to avoid--complications. And this time, I made things between us complicated.

I went back to my room and grab my phone. That's when I find a piece of paper underneath.

Sebastian,

The best night of my life.

Abby

I can't fucking believe it.

"Fuck you, Abby!" I scream in anger.

I know she can't hear me even if I yell from the fucking rooftop because I know where she's right now, but I'm beyond pissed. I check my phone, and I find nothing from her. I mean, no message or missed call. I check the clock, and it's eleven in the morning.

Shit. I never slept that long for as long as I can remember.

I take a shower. Fuck. Me. Every corner of this place only reminds me of Abby. I remember how she blew my mind--how she did it like a pro. Her mouth feels like home. Jesus, her mouth, her skin, her tits, and her pussy, I'm hard as a rock right now. I ignore my cock, and I'm still pissed at her.

I close the water and wrap a towel around my waist. I call Elle and tell her I'm coming to work. I dial Linc, and he answers in just a ring.

"Mr. Hughes."

"Mr. Hughes, my ass. Prepare the car."

"Of course, sir. Sir?"

"What is it? Drop it if it's not important."

"Sir, it's about Ms. King."

"What about my wife?" He knew I married Abby, and he was there at the wedding.

"She left a few hours ago."

"I know, and she didn't fucking tell me."

"Sir, there is something else. I thought you should know." He sounds hesitant, but he continues. "I found a crumpled paper probably for her. She looked frightened, like shaking and pale. I asked her if she's okay, and she said she's fine, but I doubt it. I offered her a ride home, but she refused. I thought you two fought."Typical Abby--so stubborn.

"What kind of paper? Tell me about it."

"It's computerized. You've grown up into fine woman, Mackenzie."

"Fuck! Is that all?"

"Yes, sir." Fuck. That psychopath found her, and she's not safe here anymore.

"Do me a favor, Linc. Send it for fingerprinting. Send two from your trusted men to my wife's place. Let them rent a room or apartment, and if it could be possible, let them take the same floor as hers. Let them check for any suspicious activities, mails, persons, even beggars or homeless. Keep it discreet. I don't want her to suspect, and she'd be more terrified. Send men who are highly capable of keeping my wife's safe. I want them to watch her 24/7, follow her everywhere she goes, to school, restaurant, bookstore. Everywhere."

" Copy that, sir. Consider it done."

I send him my wife's address. Thanks to Mike. He gave me Abby's info last night before dinner. Her address, schools, her therapist, and her summer classes schedule.

I get down to the parking area. Abby's car wasn't parked here anymore. That piece of shit couldn't slip the note here. It's secured with a password and key card, only me and Lincoln have access to it. Linc is busy on his phone, probably talking with his contact for Abby's security.

I feel agitated.

"Sir, I checked the footage from where she parked, and I found nothing. I don't know how it was possible. Maybe he was paid. it looks like well trained. Maybe he waited for the guard to go to the bathroom or get coffee, paused the camera, then slipped the note. It won't take time to do that."
