ABBY

"Seriously, man. Stop giving us heart problems. I'm still too young to ie. And who would have thought in love Seb could turn him into dipsomaniac," Pat teases Seb, making everyone laugh.

"Stop making fun of me, sucker." My husband turns into red beside me on the dining table. I look at everyone, and they're happy and have moved on after what happened earlier. These people care about my husband more than I can ever think of.

"And who would have thought Seb falls in love?" Lincoln interjects.

"Really, White? What do you think of me, a heartless? I just met my woman." Seb rolls his eyes, glancing at me. And it just melts my heart that falling in love with someone is easy for him to show.

"Who would have thought Seb is kicked out of an apartment by a woman?" Everyone bursts out into a loud laugh when it's Christ turned. They're making fun of Seb, but he doesn't seem to care.

"Jesus Dad, What's this? Seb's embarrassing Moment?" He shakes his head, and I'm grinning beside him. He squeezes my knee under the table.

"Okay, it's my turn/ Who have thought--" I am not able to continue. Seb covers my mouth with his hand.

"Baby, not you too, woman. You'll pay for this later. What are you going to say?" he whispers to my ear, and I giggle. His breath is tickling me.

"That's unfair. Everyone has something to say about, and I can't? You will pay for this," I emphasize the word you.

"Oof. Someone will sleep on the floor tonight," Dad teases my husband, and I think I just blush. I have to bite my lip not to laugh.

"We better go back tonight, Abby. You have classes in the morning." Mason winks at me.

"No fucking way, Foley. Not you too, traitor. I will fire you, and you can't take my wife away from me. Never, and over my dead fucking body." Seb puts down his fork to his plate a little bit stronger. The clinking sound of the cutlery echoes in the dining room. Everyone goes silent.

"Who would have thought in love Sebby just turned into caveman?" Trix snorts, and everyone in the room laughs out, including Seb and me.

"And who would have thought I would turn into a whipped," Seb finally says before kissing me on the cheek.

"And who would have thought my son curse too much?" says Jules.

After our hilarious dinner, we all settle in Seb's enormous living room. Everyone shares a topic like a regular big family. Even his employees, he treats them like family and friends. That's one thing I love about him.

I join my husband in the loveseat, leaning my head on his shoulder. He kisses the top of my head as he starts running his fingers on my arm, sending shivers down my spine, he kisses the top of my head.

I love this feeling, and I love being with people around who care about us. I feel like a normal human being again until my phone rings beside me. I look at my husband who's staring at me too.

"Maybe it's Drew. Answer it, baby," he tells me, and I pick up my phone. It's a call from an unknown number. My eyebrows furrow. Drew might think that I won't answer if it's from his own number.

I answer the call. Before I can say anything the voice from the other line terrifies me to the core.

"My sweet Mackenzie. You are mine, and if you let anyone get near you, they will all die."

I can't breathe. It feels like someone just sucks out the air in my lungs, leaving me empty. An nd he's real--he's not only in my nightmare. How's this even possible? My phone falls from my hand while I'm still rooted in my place. I can feel my body shakes, and my bones start freezing. I'm horrified that he's now threatening the people I care about.

"Baby, who the fuck is calling you?" My husband demanding a voice startles me and gets everyone's attention. I can't say anything. My jaw locks as I look into my husband's eyes.

"Baby, breathe. Breathe, Abbygail." He's now cupping my face, cooing me to relax, but I can't. "Hey, look at me, my love. No one is gonna hurt you. I'm here, and we're all here to keep you safe." I just stare at his beautiful gray eyes, speechless, and he also looks so frightened.

"T-the c-call was from the man." I wipe my tears and blink twice so that I can see his face clearly. I don't realize everyone is already in front of me. "I thought that was Drew, but it wasn't him." I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

Breathe, Abby. You can do this.

"Guys, give her some space, please?" He motions to everyone. "Breathe, baby. You don't have to talk right now. We can get through this. You are safe. I'm here with you, and no one's gonna hurt you while I'm still breathing. Did you hear me, Abbygail?"

I nod even I'm still terrified. When I look at everyone, they look at me as if I will disappear at any moment if they blink. My husband takes my phone on the floor. Dad looks worried, but he hasn't said a worried, and I'm getting worried about him.

"Linc, asks some expert to trace the call. Let them do everything that could lead us to that psychopath."

I grab Seb's arm. "Don't give it to him yet, Sebastian."

"And why not? So that he can call you and scare you again?"

I shake my head. "No. He sent me voicemail before," I say slowly.

"And when was that, Abbygail? And just now you're telling me this? How did he even have your number?" Seb yells in front of me with his hands on his hips, and I cower in my seat and grab my knees as his ear-splitting voice hits my ears.

I can't control myself anymore. My pulse quickens and races so hard, and I want to cover my ears, but my body is shaking uncontrollably as memories of years ago came storming back in my head.

I can't hear anyone, even my Dad.

"Don't you fucking yell at her, Hughes. She's already terrified, and you're terrifying her more." It was Patrick, snarling.

"Fuck off, Williams! This is my wife you're talking about."

I feel suddenly small. I squeeze my eyes shut to push back those memories out of my head. I want to come back, but I need some silence, and all they do is yell in front of me.

When I open my eyes, Patrick's lurches toward Seb, pointing his finger at Seb's chest. "And that's my friend you're yelling at, asshole. If you hurt her, I'll fucking kill you, best friend."

"Will you two lower down your voice. Instead of barking like wild dogs, let's hear Abby talks. Darling?" Jules grabs both men on their arms and motions for me to talk.

"T-the voicemail was three days ago," I murmur. My voice is still shaking.

"Jesus, three days ago. Something could've happened to you, and you didn't even mention to Mason and Logan." Seb sounds frustrated and clearly pissed.

"Let her continue, son," Dad finally talks.

"I closed my phone after you left," I continue.

"Of course, you did," Seb says through gritted his teeth.

"Son, if you'll continue acting like that, I will throw you out until Abby is done talking." His father doesn't sound happy with his son's interruption.

"Seriously, Dad? This is my fucking home." Flaring his nose, he glares at his father.

"Sebastian, do you want me to continue or you can continue snarling? Just tell me when you're done." I glare at him.
