“Who said I was begging you?” Kaze asked indifferently. 

It never occurred to Kaze that Darcy would take him to Mathias to ask for help. 

Kaze was caught between emotions. 

Darcy grimaced. 

In case Kaze got on Mathias‘ nerves again, Darcy stepped on his foot under the table. 

“Stubborn. You’re just stubborn.” 

Fortunately, Mathias let it slide and assumed Kaze could not put his ego aside. 

“Can I take your order, mister?” 

A server in the café approached.. 

“Just a pot of tea, thank you,” Mathias replied with a smile. 

Soon, the server carried a pot of tea over.

Mathias stopped the server and turned to Kaze. “You should show me how much 

you need my help. The least you can do is fill my cup.” 

“You’re not worthy.” 

Kaze took a glance at him, not wanting to dwell further in conversation with him. 

“I’m unworthy? You came begging me. How am I undeserving?” 

Mathias saw red. 

Rising to his feet, he looked at Darcy. “Ms. Quint, if you show a bit of respect, we can forget about today.”

Darcy glared at Kaze before getting up to stop Mathias from leaving. 

She was furious with Kaze, but now

With a blushing face, Darcy bent over and held the pot to pour tea into Mathias‘ cup.

“You can’t even exchange your family’s entire assets to get my wife to serve you tea.”

“The Butterworth Queens are nothing. I can get the head of your household to serve 

me tea with just one phone call.”

Darcy glared at him. “I pleaded and begged around to save your ass. Not only did you refuse to cooperate, but you continued to put Mr. Queen in distress too. What the hell are you trying to do?”

Darcy cut him off. “Get out!” 

She pointed at the door with a stern look. “Get out now!” 

Kaze snapped an icy look at Mathias before walking out. 

Once he was gone, tears started rolling down Darcy’s cheeks. 

Mathias handed her a tissue. 

“Thank you.” 

Darcy wiped away her tears and said tearfully, “I’m sorry you had to see that, Mr. 

Queen. Let me pour you a cup of tea.” 

“It must be rough to have a husband like him.” 

Mathias calmed down when Kaze took a hit.
