Hence, the Esper Association HQ built an indoor arena to make that kind of fight official.

In case of an official match between two S-Class Espers vying for a spot in the Top 5, representatives from the government, the Esper Association, and the National Guide Bureau would oversee the fight to make sure it was fair. Of course, the representatives were also there to ensure that no one would die.

After all, an S-Class Esper— natural or not— is a national treasure.

He immediately checked the menu that his boss gave him.

It wasn’t like he was excited about the food, per se. He just liked that it was his boss’ treat. Arena food and drinks were pricey, so he wouldn’t order anything if it was just him.

"I’d like to order fried chicken, steak sandwich, fries, nachos, and a big bucket of popcorn," Yuno said, and then he raised his head. "Sajangnim, should we also get a few bottles of beer?"

Moon Noa smiled and nodded. "Sure—"

A knock on the door interrupted his boss.

"It’s me, Yang Youngjae."

"I’ll open the door," Moon Noa said, standing up. "I’ll leave so you can have a pleasant talk with Esper Yang Youngjae. But if he threatens you, just scream. My bodyguards will come and save you."

"I know," Yang Youngjae said in a firm and slightly irritated voice. "Is Ki Gayoon not here yet?"

"Esper Ki Gayoon-ssi will be here before the match."

Yang Youngjae looked surprised by Yuno’s response. "Are you throwing your Esper under the bus?"

Yang Youngjae looked at Yuno weirdly, and then he smirked. "I like taming Guides like you. Once I kill Ki Gayoon, I’ll take care of you, Noh Yuno— like how spoils of war are taken by the victors."

As expected, most Espers really see Guides as nothing but objects.

"How is Guide Choi Kangmin doing, sir?"

Yang Youngjae looked surprised by Yuno’s random question, but he still responded. "The potions didn’t work on his concussion, so he was brought to the hospital. He also suffered a few broken ribs. The doctors said he’ll be fine, but he still has to stay there for a few days."

"I see."

"If you’re going to apologize to my Guide, do it after the match. I want you to kneel and beg for Choi Kangmin’s forgiveness."

"Then why?"

"I’m just going to suggest you call the hospital and reserve the room next to Choi Kangmin’s room," Yuno said, letting out a soft mocking laugh. "Because Esper Ki Gayoon will definitely send you to the hospital half-dead, Esper Yang Youngjae-ssi."

Yang Youngjae looked surprised at first, and then his face was distorted in anger. "You better get ready after the match, Noh Yuno— you’ll be Guiding me until your body breaks down."
