Chapter Two

"Just because the girl stays quiet, you’ll say anything that comes to your horrid mind? Keep your tongue within control. It won’t even take me two minutes to set you straight.” Sahaan’s grandmother yells at her aunt, Ayesha.

She is very old and walks with the help of a stick, but she still stands firm. She won’t budge when it comes to her beliefs and morals. She has a dominating aura around her and from her experiences, she can read people like open books, thus she knows her daughter-in-law’s tactics very well.

She knows how cruel Ayesha is when it comes to Sahaan.

"Child, go and have some breakfast. You have to leave for office, so make sure to eat properly. Let’s see who stops you from going. And don’t worry about your mother; I will take care of her.” Sahaan’s grandmother holds her hand and walks her towards the dining table.

Everyone comes down to have breakfast. Sahaan’s aunt, Ayesha, keeps glaring at her. This glaring doesn’t go unnoticed by Ayesha’s son, Ahmed. He follows his mother’s eyes which end up right on Sahaan.

Ahmed’s eyes narrow at Sahaan, who’s having her breakfast peacefully. Anger bubbles inside his chest, knowing she is the cause of his mother’s pain.

"I’ll teach her a lesson later. How dare she ruin my mother’s peace?" He makes a promise to himself.

Sahaan stands up, says her goodbyes to everyone, and bends down to kiss her grandmother’s hand.

"Please make sure mom eats her breakfast. Be patient with her because she isn’t in the best mood when she has headaches.” she whispers to her grandmother, making sure no one else hears her.
