Shannon shot Ziva a cold look in fury.

George had been observing from the side. The moment Shannon's blood drops struck Ziva, who was dressed in a mascot costume, he signaled the bodyguards to hold the latter down.

He had no intention of letting her go after knowing she was the culprit.

The bodyguards acted quickly at the order. Just as they assumed it'd be a piece of cake to restrain Ziva encumbered by the mascot costume, the black smoke Shannon had split in half surged rapidly toward the former.

Before the bodyguards could touch her, the black smoke swirled around her and formed a protective black barrier.

The bodyguards hesitated briefly at the sight of the eerie black smoke. One cautiously reached out, but it was too late by the time Shannon saw it and tried to stop him.

The talisman turned sharp like a blade severing the black smoke choking the bodyguard. Then, two other bodyguards rushed to drag the weakened man away.

The severed black smoke returned to the barrier around Ziva and expanded. Before long, it enveloped her entirely in its shadowy shroud.

When the black smoke began to dissipate, it revealed Ziva, who'd shed the mascot costume, and an elderly man with gray hair.

Alaric had a venomous gaze. There was a cold sneer on his lips as he looked at Shannon. His hoarse and raspy voice carried a chilling undertone.
