Shannon's fists clenched by her side before she suddenly formed a mudra with one hand.

Ignoring what rules there might be, she stepped forward and plopped into the seat directly in front of Reuben. Though her face carried a hint of youthful immaturity, her expression was serious.

Reuben stared at her for a moment before letting out a cold laugh. "What if I tell you I do have that authority?"

Shannon adjusted her posture slightly and said, "Then I'd consider it."

She'd consider but not necessarily agree to join.

Reuben was utterly baffled. The kid did have a temper like her.

Shannon had come to confirm some of her suspicions. But after dealing with Reuben, she felt that whether or not he had any connection to her mother no longer mattered.

Even if there was a connection, it seemed like one he didn't want to acknowledge.
