Layne's face was a mix of disbelief and rage as he watched his bodyguards get taken down instantly by a seemingly delicate woman. He immediately reached for his phone to call for more security.

Shannon got ready to call for reinforcements as well, but before she could act, a heart-wrenching scream came from downstairs. "Ah, Posie!"

Shannon wasted no time pushing Layne aside and rushing downstairs. She called back to Fennec as she went, "Take care of things up here. Don't harm anyone."

Fennec responded in her usual soft tone, "Got it."

Without looking back, Shannon came to the lower level only to be greeted by a disgusting sight that made her stomach churn.

The hallway leading to the basement was lined with glass enclosures, each housing a variety of snakes. As they saw her, they turned to her and flicked their tongues.

Though Shannon wasn't afraid of snakes, the collective gaze of so many slithering snakes made her skin crawl.

Just as she reached the door of the basement, Kai popped out and shouted at the snakes lining the hallway, "Behave yourselves! Do you want me to hiss you into submission!"

After his scolding, the snakes quickly recoiled and lowered their heads to curl submissively,

Shannon walked over now that the path was clear. Several large pythons were confined in glass enclosures within the basement.

One of the enclosures was open, and Blossom sat inside clutching a weak giant python. His cries were heart-wrenching.

"Posie, don't leave me! Our baby hasn't hatched yet! I'm so sorry I was late…" Anyone who didn't know better might think he was mourning his wife.

As Shannon approached, she noticed that the eyes of the python were open. It feebly flicked against Blossom's hand.

When it saw Shannon, the python's gaze hardened with both vigilance and hatred. Even its limp body began to stir.

"I'm from the Demon Control Agency, and I was sent to bring you out of here," she explained.

But the python continued its glare of hatred. As it flicked its tongue, it said, "Humans are all deceitful and cruel. You mystic masters are no different!"
