"Who are you perhaps referring to, Mr. Jensen? Our auction house values reputation and authenticity above all else. There's no way something like this could've happened," the manager replied.

Brooklynn had just walked up. When she heard Hank had gone straight to the manager to report her, her expression darkened.

What was Hank's problem? It was fine if he didn't want to talk; why would he go as far as to report her?

"That's slander!" she called out.

Hank noticed she'd followed him and pointed at her without hesitation. "That's her. I suggest you detain her immediately. If she has committed fraud through your auction house, I demand you report her to the authorities and press charges for impersonation and fraud!"

Though Hank was just a newcomer in college, the serious and commanding presence he gave off as a Jensen left no room for underestimation. The manager couldn't afford to dismiss him lightly.

Still, allowing the situation to escalate would undoubtedly harm the reputation of the auction house, and that was a risk they couldn't take either.

"Could there be some misunderstanding, Mr. Jensen? Shall we do it this way? Could both of you come with me to the reception room and discuss this matter further?"

Brooklynn's eyes flickered with a brief look of panic when she heard Hank mention calling the police, but there was no way she could back down at this point.

The three soon arrived at the reception room. To take the matter seriously, the manager temporarily postponed the auction of Rosalie's pieces and had them brought over. Then, he called in the in-house appraiser.

Every item at the auction house had been thoroughly authenticated by their appraiser before being listed.

As soon as the two pieces were laid out, Hank recognized them as genuine pieces at a glance.

But so what? Just because the works were authentic didn't mean the person was.
