Shannon and Celeste took a cab to an apartment at Eastside.

Following Celeste upstairs, Shannon noticed the apartment was moderately sized. It was cozy and warmly decorated.

As soon as they entered, a chubby snow-white fox waddled out of a room and swayed its fluffy tail.

The fox first trotted up to Celeste and affectionately rubbed against her legs. Then, it tilted its head and curiously observed Shannon as if wondering where this stranger had come from.

The fox was of the same breed as Marshmallow but larger. Unlike most animals, it showed no fear of strangers and approached Shannon to sniff at her hand.

Shannon calmly spread her palm and allowed the fox to sniff her.

The fox took its time and eventually confirmed she was a stranger. Yet sensing a faint resemblance in scent to its owner, the fox accepted her and nudged its head in a gesture of friendliness.

Celeste noticed this interaction and commented, "She usually doesn't warm up to people. Looks like she likes you."

"That's because I have a fox quite similar to her," Shannon replied. Then, she fixed her gaze on Celeste and asked, "What's the name of your fox?"

Celeste smiled faintly. "Her name's Macaron."

Shannon nodded in understanding and smiled. "What a coincidence. My fox is named after a snack too. Her name's Marshmallow."

"Ha. That really is a coincidence," Celeste muttered slightly awkwardly. She set the fox down and entered her bedroom. Soon, she returned with a set of clothes.

"You're about my size, so change into these. Take off those damp clothes."

Shannon had no objections. She took the clothes and headed to the bathroom.

Once she closed the door, Tortoise the System poked its head out of her bag and bombarded her with questions.
