She turned to the kitchen and told the owner to fire up the stove. The owner said nothing as he turned and briskly disappeared into the back.

As the owner's wife motioned for Lexie to take her seat, Mike stood frozen for a second, dumbfounded. But he quickly caught on and scurried over.
