Although he didn't speak very loudly, the surrounding guests heard him. They immediately began to view Francis with a more courteous and friendly gaze.

If the Grays were Shannon's adoptive parents, that meant the Jensens were indebted to them. The other guests certainly needed to befriend them as well.

Even without looking around, Francis sensed the immediate change in the guests' attitudes and knew he had achieved the effect he wanted. He didn't notice the way Adam's expression soured the moment he spoke.

When Adam spotted the Grays earlier, he decided to have the security team quietly escort them out. But before he could make the arrangements, the Grays came approaching.

As a businessman himself, he naturally knew what Francis was up to. He read the other like a book.

George continued to smile, giving the impression of a kindly, friendly old man. "Oh. You're Shannon's adoptive parents, aren't you? We have you to thank for taking care of Shannon all these years."

"Not at all, Mr. Jensen Senior. You're being far too courteous with us. If we had known that she was the Jensen family's daughter, we would've helped her reunite with you a long time ago," Francis declared.

"Is that so?" George replied agreeably.

Then, he turned to Adam and said, "Since the Grays raised Shannon, they are our honored guests today. Adam, take them upstairs and make sure they are well attended to. We wouldn't want to be impolite."

Adam wanted nothing more than to get rid of the Grays, of course, so he immediately walked over.
