“I will take care of Hayden. As for the rest, you can figure it out yourselves,” Lily said coldly. 

“Lily!” Hazel grabbed the phone back from Bobby, her voice filled with panic. “We’re doing this for your own E regret it I Xavier leaves you for real one day!” 

good. Why won’t you listen to us? You’ll 

Lily gripped her phone tightly and said, “I will take care of myself, there’s no need for the both of you to worry.” 

With that, Lily ended the call. A loud busy signal emitted from Hazel’s phone that was on speaker mode. Bobby was so angry that he threw the phone against the wall 

“Honey, don’t be mad! She might be going through a tough the lately. Xavier wants a divorce, and it’s hard for her to get the money. Don’t worry. I’ve swapped her pills. We’ll wait for her to get pregnant, then everything will be fine!” Hazel lifted her hand and gently stroked Bobby’s chest over and over again 

“Wait? Until when?” Bobby pushed her away. “She’s the wonderful daughter you raised!” 

“Honey, don’t be angry. If something happens to you with all this stress, I won’t be able to take it. Just one more month, and Lily will be pregnant!” 

Hazel said. 

Hazel had switched Lily’s birth control pills for over a week. Even if these few days weren’t Lily’s ovulation period, Hazel assumed she would still definitely conceive within the month. 

Lily turned off her phone and placed it on the dining table, and the darkened screen reflected Xavier’s sharp features. She turned around instinctively. Xavier had just showered, and his short hair was still dripping wet. Droplets fell onto his black satin pajamas that clung to his muscular chest. “I will take care of myself” was not a positive way to describe her current situation. 

“I didn’t know you felt so wrong being with me,” Xavier said. He raised a hand and took a lock of her hair that fell on her chest. He twirled it around his finger. 

Lily didn’t want to reveal her family’s problematic relationship in front of him. She couldn’t help but panic and lowered her gaze. She was afraid to see the look of contempt in his eyes. 

After all, her own family treated her as such, so Lily didn’t think she had the right to expect Xavier to respect her. 

“Let’s have dinner,” she said. Lily avoided discussing the so–called grievances Xavier mentioned. She pulled the lock of hair in his hand away and turned 

the dining room to retrieve two sets of cutleries. 

Then, she set the cutleries down and took a seat. 

The snow on the road had been mostly cleared, and they would be able to return to their offices tomorrow. Lily knew she had to bring up the topic of her living expenses tonight.
