Timothy and Sarah hurriedly stepped into the elevator just before the doors closed. Only then did Xavier notice Sarah. 

“What brings you here? 

“I happened to be nearby meeting a client. I saw your car parked outside and thought I’d come up to check on you,” Sarah replied smoothly. “Where are you heading? Do you mind 

Eiving me alim?” 

The elevator descended slowly Xavier glanced at his watch “I can’t” 

“You’re not going back to the company?” Sarah wasn’t the least bit surprised by his refusal. 

“Not yet,” he replied curtly as the elevator doors opened. He strode ahead of them, giving Timothy instructions as he walked. “Find out where she’s headed and get a car.” 

Timothy knew exactly who he was referring to. He dashed out of the hotel and spotted Lily standing by the roadside, trying to hall acab 

The cold wind brushed against her, flushing her cheeks. The tip of her nose was pale and frosty from the chill, even though she was wrapped in a thick down jacket. 

Her eyes were still misty from choking on the alcohol earlier. Her look was tragile and alluring that any man would find tempting. Any man would be aroused just by looking at her. 

Lily wouldn’t end well tonight for a man with less restraint. 

It was rush hour now, and she had been waiting for a cab for quite some time. Timothy quickly made a call. A licensed cab pulled up beside her within five or six minutes. However, the driver was someone Timothy had arranged at the last minute 

Xavier couldn’t shake the feeling of worry. He had Timothy drive behind them, and they trailed Lily to Aqua Sonata. 

Xavier stepped out of the car once she entered the complex before he lit a cigarette and followed her. 

He escorted her to the entrance of the building and watched as she went upstairs. The lights in her unit were harmed on a 

i a moment later. 

He stared at her unit for a few seconds before he turned around to leave. He then spotted Timothy shivering a short distance away 

“Why did you follow me?! 

Timothy replied honestly. “You’ve been drinking ” 

Xavier frowned. “You think I’m going to knock out with that amount of alcohol?” 

Timothy spoke truthfully again. “I’m more worried that you’ll end up staying the night. Shall I wait for you or not?” 

Xavier shot him a sharp glue. “Do I look like that kind of person?” 

Yes, he was. Timothy kept the thought to himself. After all, Xavier was the one who got her drunk and also the one worrying about her safety now. 

Xavier held the cigarette between his fingers before he turned around and walked away. 

Timothy’s inner criticism was so intense that his face unconsciously showed a look of doubt about his actions. Therefore, Xavier explained as he went. “She’s still legally my wife. I’d be the one publicly humiliated if something happened to her.” 

Timothy quickened his pace to catch up with him. “Didn’t you say Mrs. Fulton and Mr. Devereux were entangled? Aren’t you already humiliated?” 

Xavier’s temple throbbed at his bluntness “They wouldn’t dare to cross that line no matter how entangled they are. They know their limits and boundaries.”
