Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 54. Let's read the author's Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier) Internet story right here.
Chapter 54
“Where are you going?” Queenie, the lady sitting across from Lily, asked in a small voice.
“I’m going to find Ms. Cooper and see if there’s anything to do,” Lily whispered.
Shaking her head vigorously at Lily, Queenie said, “She doesn’t like you. She’ll just make things difficult for you if you go.”
It seemed that Queenie had her fair share of experience.
Lily sat back down again and asked Queenie for advice. “So, how can I steer clear of trouble?”
Perhaps because they both shared the same frustration, Queenie told her everything. The two leaned toward each other and whispered over their desks.
This had infuriated Nadia, who wasn’t far away. She snapped a picture of them and sent it to Sarah.
“Look at the kind of people the company hires. They’re slacking off on their first day at work!”
Sarah zoomed in on the photo and confirmed that one of them was Lily. She had met Nadia when she volunteered at an orphanage for the sake of publicity. As both had been doing well in the business industry, they quickly became friends..
While staring at the photo, Sarah contemplated for a while before texting back.
“You don’t like her?”
“Of course I don’t,” Nadia immediately replied. “I personally interviewed several assistant candidates a few days ago, but before I could even make up my mind, she landed right into the company through her network. How could someone like her actually be competent?”
“That’s true. If you really despise her, I have a solution,” Sarah said.
“What is it?” Nadia asked.
“My boyfriend bought me a house, and we’re thinking of renovating it. Have her handle our case, and I’ll sort her out for you.”
A designer’s assistant usually had a three–month probation period. If the person offended a client or made a huge mistake, he or she could be fired immediately. The person could even be blacklisted if things escalated.
Nadia felt somewhat uneasy. “But this doesn’t seem right. I have to have a legitimate excuse to let her go.”
Lily was just a pretty face, after all. Nadia bet she definitely couldn’t do anything right, so she was thinking of tolerating her for a few days before letting Ker go.
Yet, Sarah was persistent. “What’s wrong with it? Since she entered the company through her connections, she must’ve got someone backing her. You can’t afford to offend her, but you can use me to kick her out.”
Remembering that her superior did mention that Lily was personally hired by Terence, Nadia didn’t dare to offend her. But she hesitated for a while and eventually agreed to Sarah’s plan. Sarah exited her chat with Nadia and turned toward Xavier, who was working on some documents in front of her.
“Xavier, can I renovate your house?”
Xavier paused, and the pen stilled in his hand. “Suit yourself.”
His face was set with a deep frown.
“You’ve been in a bad mood lately. Has something happened?” Sarah asked gently, unlike her usual somber tone at work.
