Chapter 84

Suzanne and Marsha both looked over.

The window of the top–of–the–line luxurious Maybach lowered, revealing Austin’s sharply defined, handsome face.

Suzanne raised her eyebrows slightly–was he still waiting?

She turned to look at Marsha, but before she could say anything, the latter had already nodded with an ambiguous smile. “Oh, I see how it is. You guys have fun I’ll get going now!”

As she spoke, she boldly waved at Austin. “Bye, Mr. Hall!”

Marsha flicked her long hair over her shoulder before sashaying away in a sexy manner.

Exasperated, Suzanne couldn’t help but shake her head and chuckle at Marsha’s antics, though she had a faint affectionate look in her eyes.

After watching Marsha get into her car, Suzanne turned and walked toward Austin’s vehicle.

When Suzanne opened the back seat door, Austin’s expression darkened.

The oblivious Suzanne then buckled her seatbelt. When she noticed Austin hadn’t started the car, she furrowed her brows.

As she looked up, she met Austin’s icy gaze.

Suzanne froze briefly. Was he angry?

Soon, the car started. Austin remained silent the entire way, and the atmosphere in the car felt stifling.

Suzanne composed herself, knowing that her actions tonight had indeed been inappropriate.

She glanced at Austin and said softly, “What happened with the dancing tonight was an accident. I’ll be more mindful in the future and won’t bring shame to the title of Mrs. Hall”

The tension in the car instantly intensified.

Austin frowned deeply, exuding a cold, menacing air. His voice was low and sharp as he retorted, “Do you think I’m upset because of appearances?”

Aside from the dancing, she couldn’t think of anything else.

Back home, Suzanne took a shower and finished her skincare routine before lying on the bed. She scrolled through her phone messages, but she couldn’t concentrate on any of them.

Leaning against the doorframe, Suzanne looked at him and asked, “Aren’t you going to bed?”

Austin’s hand paused slightly over the document before he coldly replied, “You should sleep first.”

He then resumed working.

Suzanne nodded slightly, her heart heavy with frustration. Without saying anything more, she turned and went back to the bedroom.

Sitting on the bed with her phone in hand, she still couldn’t figure out what had made him so angry.

With furrowed brows, Suzanne decided not to overthink it. She placed her phone on the bedside table, pulled up the covers, and went to sleep

Two days later, housekeepers were bustling in and out at the Alvarez residence, cleaning the house.

The place seemed livelier than before.
