Kallum was stunned for a few moments before he broke into a smile and said, “Are you joking with me?”

“No, I’m don’t joke about such things.”

Calista’s expression was very solemn, her eyes bright in the night. But that serious tone of voice made Kallum’s heart suddenly burn with anger.

“Are you playing with me?”

Calista saw Kallum raise his eyebrows slightly and she knew he was going to blow his top, so she put two fingers on his lips to stop him.

“I’m not playing with you. Those things I said to you today while I was in a daze weren’t lies to cheat you. I did like you before, no, the word ‘like’ is not sufficient. You were the only reason why I continued living, and I loved you deeply…”

Kallum felt himself tremble at the words ‘loved deeply’, and the fire that threaten to destroy everything in its way mysteriously disappeared.

Calista started laughing bitterly at herself. When she saw him, she felt she could see her torn and battered previous life.

“….but I’ve become very tired. I’ve liked you for more than ten years but there’s no response at all, and even the deepest feelings have worn out.

There were many things that wore her feelings out, but she didn’t intend to explain each one in detail to him.

“So everything I said to you earlier were things I wanted to say from a long time ago, but I couldn’t say them before. But that was the past, and now I don’t like you anymore.”

The words ‘I don’t like you anymore’ made Kallum feel bitterness in his heart for the first time.

How could she just not like him anymore? What she said earlier that day proved how much she loved him before, and how was it possible that she just didn’t like him anymore?

Calista put her hand down and looked straight at him as she said, “I’m very grateful for your help today, and I can understand why your desire is only for me, since I’m the first woman you’ve slept with. But that was not real love, and I hope you can start over from today onwards…”

The moment she finished talking, Kallum suddenly pulled her waist towards him, bent down and kissed her on the lips.

They had already exchanged kisses many times, but each time they touched each other, they could feel a strange sort of excitement that made them shudder.

It was a feeling that made them want to dive deeper, but it also felt dangerous at the same time.

Kallum let go of Calista before she could struggle in protest. She looked up at him and saw his deeply set eyes looking straight at her.

Kallum’s feelings were usually strong and direct, but now his eyes had a mixture of anger, viciousness, a refusal to admit defeat and even some bitterness.

“What do you mean by start over, I’m the first man you’ve slept with too, right?”

Calista pursed her lips together. “But that doesn’t mean…”

“So why don’t you give me a chance?”

Calista immediately frowned.

“So you wooed me before, so I’ll woo you from now on, ok?”

The confusion in Kallum’s eyes all turned into confidence. “I’ll definitely win you over!”

“No you won’t!”

He didn’t know which nerve of Calista’s he struck with his words, but she pushed him away with all her might and then her expression suddenly became cold again. “It’s very late, I must go back.”

Kallum was about to get angry again when he saw that she became cold again, but suppressed it.

He had never experienced this feeling of getting something and then losing it again and was very confused. “Isn’t the feeling of being wooed nice? Why are you angry?”

“But Mum…after today, what are you going to do? Jonathan has identified you as the master mind, and Daddy…”

Yelena’s face paled as she replied, “Nothing will happen…he has no evidence, so nothing will happen to me…”

That was what she said, but she was still frowning, which meant that it wasn’t easy to tidy up this mess.

Quincy angrily said, “It’s all your fault! If you were a bit more careful, this wouldn’t have happened!”

Yelena naturally put all the blame on herself and said, “I was not careful enough…but...Quincy! Even if I’m able to get through this, I probably can’t do much anymore for the time being. You’re going to start school again soon, and your school is different from other schools. So you must do well and get back at her for your Mummy!”

Quincy wasn’t so sure when she agreed to this – her results had always been poor, but that stupid Calista always got top scores every year. All the teachers liked Calista, and even said she was a genius.

It wasn’t easy to get in front of her.

Suddenly Quincy remembered the papers in the little house that her grandparents had left for Calista.

If she remembered correctly, Calista was excellent at doing research and development of medicinal drugs, so those papers…

Quincy had a scheming look in her eyes.

Shortly after Calista arrived home, Kallum sent an evening gown over and invited her to an auction two days later. Calista had made Kallum very unhappy earlier, and she thought that going by his personality, he would ignore her. She hadn’t expected him to turn around and send her an invite.

Calista initially did not want to go, but when she realized this auction was for that piece of land she mentioned earlier and Sterling would surely be there, she hesitated for a while before finally agreeing to go.

She guessed that Sterling would go because in her previous life, after news broke out about how that piece of land was problematic, Quincy had exclaimed, “So glad my brother didn’t buy that piece of land!”

At that time she had already been captured by Quincy, and she had a crazy thought in heart again and again, why wasn’t it the Wolfords who bought this cursed piece of land instead?
