“Say that again,” Adan requested, looking into Bianca’s eyes. His heart was racing at a thousand miles per second and he could feel electric currents coursing through him, an aftereffect of the passionate kiss they just shared.
Bianca’s face reddened. She bit her lower lip and sheepishly said, “I have feelings for you.”
Adan felt like his heart had jumped out of his chest and soared high up into the sky. A grin formed on his lips, his eyes lit up with joy and he pulled Bianca in for a hug.
“I know it will take some time for you to fall in love with me. But I’m willing to wait…” Adan remarked.
The two continued to share a hug until someone at the door cleared their throat.
“I see you lovebirds are getting closer.”
The two pulled away from the hug and glanced at the door to see Lora and Ryan walking into the ward.
Lora wore a smile on her face. She looked at her friend and was genuinely happy for her, knowing Bianca already had a crush on Adan but she didn’t want to accept it because of his reputation.
“I have to get used to seeing this… Adan was never this affectionate,” Ryan stated, shaking his head. “He’s like a whole new person now.”
“Love does that to you,” Lora responded. “You weren’t affectionate too, remember? Before you realized you loved me, you were so cold and distant.”
Ryan cringed at the memory. He wrapped an arm around his wife’s waist before looking down at her, saying, “I’m glad I realised how much I love you or I would have lost you to my brother.”
Lora chuckled and playfully hit Ryan’s chest. She remarked, “You kind of deserved it for being a jerk to me in the past.”
“Are you here to see me or to show off how in love you two are?” Bianca groaned, rolling her eyes.
“We are here to see you but one of the guards just told me someone else came through to see you and they are waiting outside the hospital,” Lora replied.
“Who came to see me?” Bianca asked, arching an eyebrow. She wasn't expecting anyone.
“The family who found you. They wanted to see how you’re doing but they couldn’t get in due to the tight security,” Lora replied.
A smile crossed Bianca’s lips. She had been planning to visit the old couple to show her gratitude when she was discharged but she didn’t expect them to come all the way here.
Her eyes lit up as she requested, “Let them in. I would like to see them.”
Lora nodded and Ryan went outside to ask the guards to look for the family they had sent away and ask them to come through.
“I can’t wait for you to meet this family, Adan. They saved my life. I wouldn’t be here if not for them,” Bianca remarked and Adan squeezed her hand.
He said, “I would like to meet them too. I’m grateful they were able to save you when I couldn’t.”
Ryan and Lora excused themselves to give them privacy and promised to visit again in the evening.
It didn’t take long for someone to knock at the door.
Bianca, wearing a smile on her face called out, “Come in please.”
The door opened and Josaphat and his wife walked through the door.
“Good after-” Josaphat froze, his eyes widening in shock as if he had seen a ghost. His wife’s face had turned pale as well.
