Didn't you?
Alice almost blurted out.
However, in the end Alice still didn't say anything.
"To be honest, I really don't agree with you and Kennedy being together, but it's not because I want to break you up. You know I always liked you."
Alice knew that it was right. When she was hurt back then, Annie treated her, and then she said a lot to comfort her, and cursed Kennedy in front of her.
Alice kept these in mind.
"Annie, I know." Alice smiled softly, "I know your past thoughts and your current thoughts. Don't worry."
Originally...Annie thought Alice would explain something to her.
But now Alice didn't explain anything, which made her feel embarrassed. She said that she didn't come to dismantle them, but... what did she mean by what she said just now??
Suddenly, Annie didn't know what to say, but felt that Alice was really different now.
She was calm and self-possessed.
"Let's eat first." Finally, Annie only said this.
"Okay." Alice smiled, and they really started to eat relatively silently.
After dinner, because Annie didn't drive, Alice drove her back.
When getting out of the car, Annie looked at Alice with dark staring eyes and said, "Alice."
Hearing it, Alice was a little startled, "Annie?"
Annie looked at Alice in the driver's seat and said softly, "If I tell you that after knowing the ins and outs of the matter, I still want you to persuade Kennedy to let Grace go, would you agree?"
As if she had expected Annie to say these a long time ago, Alice didn't have any special reaction, just nodded, "Yes."
"Yes?" Annie was a little surprised, "Don't you blame me?"
"Isn't that why you came to B City?" she said slowly.
Annie felt nothing but embarrassed when her thoughts were revealed. She coughed lightly, "Will you blame me?"
"I know that you are an intermediary in this matter, and Mr. Moore is still your nephew. If your relatives don't hold Grace accountable, I have no right to blame you as an outsider. Therefore, I respect your decision. However, this matter, Mr. Moore..."
"That's why I called you out today. I guess he sued Grace because of you, right? Alice, I know that my request is a bit too much. But after all, this matter was caused by me. I don’t want to blow it into a major controversy, this will ruin a girl, do you understand?"
Alice nodded quietly.
"Don't worry, I will definitely let Grace's mother take her away. After all, it is the greatest favor to spare them this time. If she dares to hurt you in the future. I will be the first one to punish her."
Sure enough, it was Annie, she knew everything Alice was thinking about.
Alice smiled slightly and nodded to thank her, "Thank you, Annie."
At first, Annie felt that Alice and Kennedy were not suitable for being together. To be honest, Alice disappeared for five years without a word. Annie felt a bit resentful. It was not that she thought Alice was too much, but she felt Alice was too cruel. She could disappear silently in five years. Annie thought that Alice's character was really not suitable for Kennedy.
But now when she looked at her, Annie felt that the more she saw her, the more she liked her. Maybe it was because Alice was so well-behaved that she felt guilty. Finally, Annie said something awkwardly.
"You are a good girl, and I really didn't mean to break you up."
"Your injury has been cured for so long, and you have been slowly getting better. The case will come on for trial tomorrow, so I do more to celebrate for you."
"Celebrate?" Kennedy raised his eyebrows and narrowed his eyes. "Is it really a celebration?"
Alice nodded.
"Since it's a celebration, shouldn't you be happy?" Kennedy leaned forward a little, his hot breath was close to her, and his gaze fixed on her tightly. "But you don't look happy at all, what's wrong?"
His breath was close and sprayed on her face. Alice was startled, and she stepped back a bit, and whispered, "It's okay. Don't you want more food? Then I will take these dishes back, you can just eat porridge."
After speaking, Alice reached out and tried to take away the dished on the table.
Seeing her look as usual, Kennedy grabbed her hand and said, "Never try to get them back as you give them to me."
Alice pulled her hand back and glared at him, "Then, do you have anything else to say?"
Kennedy pursed his lips, "No."
After that, he forgot what had just happened, and then ate. Alice sat next to him, wondering how to talk to him later.
Annie asked her out in order to let her persuade Kennedy. She had received Annie's help before, and should repay her.
Seeing that Kennedy was almost finished, Alice whispered, "The court session will be held tomorrow. Have you got the lawyers ready?"
Suddenly talking about this matter, Kennedy sensitively caught an unusual meaning, raised his eyes and glanced at her, "what do you want to say?"
Alice was startled, but she didn't expect that he would immediately notice it when she asked.
That being the case, then she just said it directly, and didn't have to think about it so much.
