Samantha brought Leonardo back to the apartment she shared with Layla. Though small, the space felt warm and homey—far from cold or uninviting.

She entered her bedroom, where her belongings and clothes were scattered around. A few outfits she had hastily thrown on the bed before leaving were still there.

In her rush to head out earlier, she hadn't had time to tidy up. She had completely forgotten about it, only to have Leonardo walk in and see the mess.

Panicked, she hurried inside and tried to shut the door behind her. It was too embarrassing.

However, Leonardo reached out and held the doorframe.

"What's there to be afraid of? We're already married. Do you think I would divorce you over this?"

Samantha was speechless. His words were crude, but he wasn't wrong.

She had to admit he had a point. There was no need to pretend in front of him, especially when this marriage wasn't her choice—Leonardo had forced her into it.

She realized she should live with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. With that thought, she simply gave up resisting and let him examine her room however he pleased. In the worst-case scenario, if he refused to let her move in, she could just stay here with Layla anyway.

Then, Leonardo asked, "How's the packing going?"

"I'll just take my daily essentials and a few outfits. I don't need to be too thorough—I can always return and get the rest."

"Got it. I'll help you."

He grabbed her suitcase. It was heavy but not full yet. There was still room for more clothes.

He crouched down and started unzipping it. The zipper was halfway open when Samantha suddenly remembered something.

"Wait!"

Inside were the condoms Layla had bought for her last night. If Leonardo saw them, he would definitely think she was up to something.
