Chapter 23

Apr 17, 2025

Damien stormed through the Crescent Moon Pack’s gates, his fury radiating off him like a storm about to break. His pack members stepped aside as he passed, sensing the dangerous energy rolling off their Alpha. His fists were clenched, his teeth gritted, and his mind raced with Felicia’s words.

“Says the man who replaced me so easily a few years ago? No, thank you.”

Her voice echoed in his head, sharper than any blade. How dare she? How dare she push him away as if he had no right to be concerned for her and their sons? As if Lucien—a man who had conveniently swooped in—was her protector now?

Damien growled under his breath, his nails digging into his palms as he made his way toward the clairvoyant’s chamber.

The seer, a woman with long silver hair and piercing gray eyes, sat cross-legged in the dimly lit room, her fingers tracing invisible patterns in the air. The scent of burning herbs filled the space, creating a heavy, mystical atmosphere.

She didn’t look up as Damien entered, but a knowing smile tugged at her lips. “I felt your presence long before you arrived,” she murmured, her voice both haunting and calm.

Damien didn’t waste time. “Tell me about the rogue attack on Moonveil Pack,” he demanded, his voice rough. “Who sent them?”

The seer’s eyes flickered open, the silver hue swirling like a storm. She tilted her head, considering him carefully. “Ah,” she whispered, her voice barely above a breath. “You come not just seeking truth, but vengeance.”

Damien’s patience was razor-thin. “Enough riddles. Tell me what I need to know.”

The seer’s lips curved, amused by his desperation, but she did as he asked. Her eyes fluttered closed, and the flames from the candles around her flickered as if touched by an unseen force. The air grew colder, the shadows in the room stretching unnaturally.
