Chapter 216 Where I Lose
Lysander frowned and asked, “You play pool too?”
Lynn winked at her. “Didn’t expect that, right? I’m pretty good at it. Back in my undergraduate days, none of the boys in my class could win me! Do you know how to play, Dr. Thorne?”
“I don’t.”
Not only do I not know, I’m completely clueless about it.
“I’ll teach you then!”
Without further ado, Lynn shoved a cue stick into her hand. “You’re my mentor in the hospital, but now the tables have finally turned!”
Lysander figured she had nothing else to do anyway. Looking back, she saw the two stars of the day were drinking while being hemmed in by everyone else.
Since she couldn’t hold her liquor and didn’t want to join them, she might as well play pool with Lynn.
Lynn prompted, “See here. Position your left hand like a support, and hold the cue to hit the cue ball with your right, just like this.”
Bang!
She pocketed a ball on the first hit.
“How about that, my skills are pretty good, right?”
“Amazing! You’re Ms. Vale today.”
“Now, you try!”
Lysander tried Lynn’s method and missed.
She tried again but missed the cue ball altogether. The cue stick struck air on the side of the ball.
Lysander shook her head. “I don’t think I have talent in this.”
Suddenly, a deep male voice came from behind. “Only you two are here?”
Lynn greeted with a smile, “Dr. Sutton!”
Adrian grunted an acknowledgment, slowly walked over, glanced at the mess of balls on the table that Lysander had hit, and asked softly, “Don’t know how to play, Dr. Thorne?”
Lysander shook her head. “Nope, Where’s your girlfriend, Dr. Sutton?”
“She’s acquainted with Linda, so she went to join them.”
“It seems like they’re drinking over there, aren’t you going to join them?”

Lynn’s eyes lit up. “So Dr. Sutton is also an expert!”
“I’m not bad at it.Adrian asked, “Down for a round?”
Lynn rolled up her sleeves and said, “Bring it on! We’re in a team, Dr. Thorne, so it’s two against one!”
Only then did Lysander understand, she paused for a moment and softly uttered an acknowledgment.
After chalking the cue tip, Adrian bent over again and sank all the balls on the table in one shot.
“Have you made up your mind? He’s the one?” he asked.
“I’m still thinking.”
He straightened up and looked at her. “So you haven’t decided yet?”
“He’s nice and treats me well too. It’s my problem, I still have some unresolved issues.”
Adrian nodded. “Right, you should be more cautious this time.”
“I will
