Was he feeling down? It was probably because he hadn't come to terms with the divorce yet. Nova understood. After all, Eliza had been his bedmate for over two years. It was natural for a guy to feel a bit off, and you could almost forgive that.

But that was fine. Once she married Casper, he would forget all about Eliza in no time.

Casper rode his horse at a fast pace. On his way over, the horse got spooked for some reason and reared up, nearly kicking Nova. She was so scared she stumbled backward, dropping her cane. Thankfully, Dillon caught her just in time.

Casper didn’t bother dismounting and continued galloping around the field.

"Ms. Nova, it’s pretty dangerous here. Maybe you should head back home," Dillon suggested, trying to be polite even though he was confused about why she was there. "If it’s about work, we can talk back at the office."

"Alright then, I won’t bother Casper any longer." Nova picked up her cane. "Dillon, there’s something I need you to tell him. Let him know I’ve reported Robin's assault to the police and handed over all the evidence."

Dillon frowned. Nova had claimed Robin assaulted her. She handed Casper underwear stained with Robin's semen, crying her eyes out. Casper had offered to help her report it, but she refused, worried about ruining her reputation. Dillon distinctly remembered Nova even pleading for Robin’s mercy at the time. Later, as a punishment, Casper had sent Robin to Mercy Hospital. They had agreed to let it go, and Robin had been released. Now, Nova was bringing it up again.

"I understand. I’ll pass the message to Mr. Casper."

Nova glanced at Casper on horseback in the distance. "Then I’ll be going."

Not long after Nova left, Casper dismounted. Dillon handed him a towel, seizing the moment to say, "Mr. Casper, about Robin assaulting Nova..."

A few hours later, lying in her hospital bed, Eliza saw Casper and Nova in the top news headlines on her phone. They were both at the horse field. Eliza wasn’t too upset. She'd seen such news so many times that it hardly stirred any emotion anymore.

Her phone vibrated. It was an internal company announcement about the new flower-themed jewelry collection for the season. She studied the familiar design and thought she was seeing things. But no, she wasn’t. It was her design, but the name listed was Nova's. Did that mean Nova had taken the company's hundred-thousand-dollar reward using her design? Did Casper know about this? Or had he known all along and let it happen?

Ding, another message popped up on her phone. It was from the company forum. [Shocking! Eliza’s brother is a rapist] appeared right before her eyes. Still reeling from her previous anger, she felt as if an invisible hand was gripping her throat, leaving her nearly breathless. Her fingers trembling, she opened the post...

It detailed Nova’s humiliation and pain extensively and even included a copy of the police report report. Casper had promised Eliza he’d let Robin go. He had already driven Robin to madness. Why would he go back on his word and have him arrested again?
