Chapter 269 novel His Destructive, Toxic Love

Eliza was still downing her bitter wine, glass after glass. Whether she liked it or not, Mikey had a new family now, and that was a fact. Should she just gracefully accept her new stepmom? Or maybe she should quietly leave Crescent Creek and stop messing with his happiness?

She could do it, really. But it hurt. It hurt a lot.

Casper wasn’t in a great mood either. Hearing the clinking from the next room, he knew she’d had too much to drink. He left his room, explained their relationship to the front desk, and got a room key.

He opened Eliza’s door to a strong smell of red wine. She was sitting on the floor, her face red as a tomato, mumbling drunkenly to herself with a wine bottle in hand. He walked over with an almost domineering air, scooped her up, and gently placed her on the soft bed.

Just as he was about to leave, her arm snaked around his neck like a vine. “Aaron.”

Aaron? She thought he was Aaron?

A surge of irritation welled up inside him. He gripped her wrist tightly, trying to pull her arm off him. But she didn’t seem to get it and clung even tighter.

“Aaron, why are you being as rough as Casper... so... rough.” Her voice was a mix of flirtation and dazed annoyance.

He had never seen this side of Eliza. They were usually focused on tearing each other apart when they were together. It was a bloody, torturous, and painful entangled.

Something tugged at his heart. He suppressed a deep breath. “Alright, get some sleep now.”

“Don’t go.” She hooked her arm around his neck, pulling him closer, almost making him lose his balance. “Stop it.”

She didn’t hear him. Her cries grew louder. It was like he’d wronged her. He couldn’t stand it anymore and turned to her, “Stop crying. I didn’t do anything to you.”

“You don’t want to marry me, and I don’t want to marry you either. Do you think I’m so eager to get married?” She sobbed with her eyes closed, “Living alone is so much better.”

“I’ll marry you. Would you marry me?” Casper didn’t know if she saw him or Aaron at that moment. He just watched her seriously, obsessively, and full of delusional interest.

Eliza suddenly chuckled. “Aaron, your serious expression looks just like Casper’s. I wouldn’t marry Casper in a million years. Casper is the nightmare of my life. I don’t want him. I don’t want…”

Casper admitted, at that moment, his heart shattered completely. The little hope he had left turned into bubbles, floating away and breaking apart.
