Eliza, hearing the commotion, stepped out of her bedroom and glanced toward the door.

The moment Susan saw Eliza, her face twisted in anger, her composure shattering instantly.

"What's your problem? Are you so desperate for men that you can't leave ours alone? If you're that hard up, I can find someone for you, just stop messing with the men in our family, okay?"

She trembled with a mix of frustration and fury.

"What's gotten into you?" Casper frowned, trying to pull the hysterical Susan away from the confrontation.

But Susan wasn't having it. She broke free and stormed over to Eliza, shoving her hard enough to make her stumble back a few steps.

"You... You have a kid! How can you be so reckless with your reputation? Even if you don't care about yourself, think about your child! What are you doing? Are you addicted to affairs or something?"

Susan's words cut deep, like daggers piercing Eliza's heart.

Eliza's face darkened. The Williams family's drama had already given her a headache, and now Susan was here, misunderstanding everything.

"An affair? Did you catch us in bed or see us doing anything inappropriate? Or do you just never hang out with male friends?"

"I have male friends, but I don't have an ex-husband, and I sure as hell don't keep strings attached like this." Susan's eyes flashed with resentment. "I wouldn't call an ex over at the drop of a hat. Don't you realize how inappropriate you're being?"

Eliza frowned, realizing Susan blamed her for Casper's presence.

Was it her idea for him to come over?

"Casper, get out now and don't come back. Thanks for your help, but from now on, stay out of my life, you and your fiancée."

Eliza was livid, her delicate face chilling over like a frozen lake.

Susan was scared but clung to his arm defiantly. "I'm not getting out. I came for you. I want to go back with you."

"The engagement is off." His words were emotionless, like a knife twisting in Susan’s heart.

Susan's breath caught. What did he mean the engagement was off?

"No... what do you mean, it's off?" Susan's voice wavered, tears threatening to spill.

"Casper, how can you call off the engagement? My dad gave you a port, you’ve made a fortune, and now you want to break it off? Even without the port, you have to marry me. It’s what Grandpa wanted. Not honoring it is dishonorable."

She could threaten him with anything, but using the late Jeffrey was a line she shouldn't cross.

Raising his hand, Casper grabbed Susan by the neck and pressed her hard against the seat. "I don’t want to go through with it. What are you going to do about it? What can your family do to me?"
