After Juan left, Eliza finally managed to calm down, but the sudden ring of her phone jolted her nerves once again.

"Hello?"

"Sorry... it's late, um... Ms. Eliza, this is Dillon."

Dillon?

"What's going on?"

"Mr. Casper got hurt, and I urgently need to take care of something. Could you come to the hotel to help look after him?" Dillon didn't give her a chance to think it over, "Look, we don't know anyone else in Oak Falls, and being new here, it's just for a couple of hours. I'll be right back once I'm done."

New here? What a lame excuse.

As far as she knew, Welton International had more than just a few dealings in Oak Falls.

"He's a grown man; even if he's slightly injured, he doesn't need someone to look after him. Sorry, I can't make it." Eliza declined.

"Ms. Eliza, please don't say no just yet. Mr. Casper brought young Master Brock with him this time to Oak Falls. A minor injury might be manageable, but taking care of the kid might be too much. Please..."

Eliza felt a sudden pang in her chest. Casper brought Brock to Oak Falls?

She had specifically taken leave from the daycare, informing them she wouldn't be picking up Brock this week, yet he...

Casper never discusses anything with her.

"Alright, send me the address."

After hanging up, she quickly pulled herself together, got ready, and headed to the hotel where Casper was staying.

The hotel door was slightly ajar, as if deliberately left open for her.

Eliza gently pushed the door and entered. The living room was empty, only a faint smell of alcohol lingering in the air.

She continued towards the inner suite, where Brock was sound asleep on the luxurious bed, breathing evenly, his adorable charm drawing her closer.

"Why are you here?"

Her eyes widened, "Oh my goodness... how did you get hurt?"

"Just a small injury, it's nothing." He glanced at her indifferently, a hint of a nonchalant smile on his lips, "If you're scared, go out; I can handle this myself."

Only then did Eliza notice that not only his palm but his arm and even his muscular chest bore wounds. This was no minor injury. This was the aftermath of a fierce battle, like he had been attacked.

"Casper, what's going on?"

Rolling up her sleeves, Eliza stepped in, took the tweezers from his hand, grabbed a cotton ball and disinfectant, and began to gently clean his wounds in a skilled and tender manner, "Who did you mess with? A mob boss to leave you like this?"

He looked at her, a flicker of emotion in his eyes. Casper hadn't expected Dillon to call Eliza. He had planned to deal with his wounds quietly and then take Brock to see her.

"Honestly, I don't know."

"You don't know?" Eliza lifted her gaze, full of confusion, looking at his face. After a moment of silence, she continued wiping his wounds with the cotton ball, "Where did you get hurt?"
