Evadne didn’t waste a second, rushing to the hospital with Jason by her side.

As she stepped into the room, the soft morning light bathed her grandfather, who lay weakly against the pillows, half-awake.

"My dear, do you know what Grandpa fears the most?" Hamilton sighed deeply. "I’m afraid that if Thaddeus doesn’t wake up, what will you do then?
