The moment Nydia caught sight of that woman, her pupils contracted sharply, and her back was drenched with cold sweat. She trembled more violently in Jason’s 

arms. 

The woman, named Mia, was a classmate of hers, who had always been at odds with her. She troubled Nydia time and again, bullied her, and humiliated her. Suddenly, Jason remembered hearing Miss Nydia mention that she was terrified of crossing the street and was frightened by the speeding cars.
