Edith’s entire being was flabbergasted, her pale face gradually turning ashen, as if struck by a series of thunderbolts. 

“Jareth, what are you talking about? Are you disowning me as your sister?” 

Jareth turned a deaf ear, only focusing on Marilla in his arms, his large hand rubbing her trembling back over and over. 

“Don’t be afraid. I’m back, no one can hurt you anymore”
