Jareth rushed Thaddeus, his injuries severe and blood loss extensive, to the most top–tier hospital in the capital of Country T 

Jareth was not a man prone to tears, but watching his childhood friend, as pale as a sheet, being wheeled into the emergency room, his heart wenched. Tears welled up unbidden in eyes, only to be hastily wiped away. 

“Mr. Farbowen” 

The sound of a crisp voice behind him made Janeth tum around 

“You are? 

He had a vague impression of the man was the same man that Evadno had brought to the upscale wine party at Abernathy Hotel 

“Chanel right. You can call me Dr. Bright? 

Before he could finish his sentence, Chasel, dressed in surgical scrubs, brushed past Jareth, his voice steady and calm, “Your friend’s injuries are in good hands.” 

“You You’re a doctor?” Jarth’s eyes widened in surprise. Weren’t you in Elmsworth? How did you end up here?!! 

“Cassius called me over.”

“Cassius, this is? Evadne’s eyes widened in surprise 

“This necklace isn’t worth much money, but it means a lot to me. I’ve worn it for over a decade, and it’s algays protected me in times of danger. Right now all I can do is pray and hope that Thaddeus is strong enough to bull through.” 

As Evadne started crying once more, Cassius comforted her, “Don’t cry, Exedre. Once Thaddeus wakes up, treat him well. At least, don’t cause him any more trouble” 

The Ashboume family arrived at the hospital entering the underground car park where Jareth was already waiting 

As Evache stepped out of the car she ran towards Jareth, her eyes wide with and ety, “How’s Thaddeus?!” 

Janeth replied, “He’s in surgery now hiring operated on by someone you know,” 

Do you mean Chase? Evading’s mind was as sharp as a blade, cutting through the vague Insinuations 

She turned to look at Candus 

Cassius met her guk calmly his eyes a well of unreadable thoughts. 

“Yeah, he’s been in there for almost three hours.” 

Jareth’s worry was clear in his voice, he couldn’t help but ramble on “Exadina, I heard that Dr. Bright is a relative of Suri, can we really trust him? He seems so nonchalant and contre, like a young man who spends his days playing video games. If he’s not up to the task, maybe you should take over. Didn’t you do Thad’s operation?” 

Evade’s silence was deafening. 

‘Playing video games, really?”

Evade and Elvis exchanged looks.

A man in his fifties in a crisp police uniform stepped out, his rank Indicating a high ranking official 

Behind him, a group of people in Country T police uniforms followed. They were all from the local police force. 

These men surrounded Evadne and the others, the atmosphere growing ense 

Elvis and Janeth were on high alert, ready for a fight.

Ward, bound and gagged, recognized the high–ranking offal. He knew he was here to rescue him and tried to call out for help, writhing in the car like a trapped worm

“You better behave” Elvis wamed as he pulled out the dagger. Het a cigarette and said, “Otherwise, even within this car I can think of a hundred ways to torture you Tortum is my 

Ward shivered in fear, forgetting about the pain. He was now convinced that the young master of the Ashbourne family was the most dangerous, a devilishly charming and unpredictable man. 

“We received a report of a significant hostage under your control the high–racking official said, “advise you to release the hostage immediately, surrender your weapons, and come with us for questioning. Otherwise, we will take serious action against you. Our country’s laws are stringent, and you won’t be able to bear the consequences of your actions!” 

Evadne laughed, “Strict lawa? Are you joking? 

The official looked at the beautiful woman and sneered, “You’re very bold young lady. Are you not afraid of spending the rest of your life in jal” 

Ward, listening to the conversation outside, couldn’t help but smirk
