Evadne and the others followed Jason’s intense gaze- 

And there, under the dim glow of a street lamp, stood Nydia, her delicate frame almost disappearing against the backdrop of the night. The evening breeze tousled her soft, seaweed like hair and caressed her tear–stained, porcelain cheeks, 

“Jason‘ 

Her hoarse voice echoed his name, tears cascading down her face without end. 

Her fragile silhouette seemed on the verge of being devoured by the darkness, so pitiful it could shatter one’s heart. 

Jason, driven by a surge of protectiveness, dashed to the girl he adored. His eyes reddened, he embraced her with all the strength he could muster, as if trying to draw out every last drop of her pain. 

“Why are you out here so late? It’s not safe,” he managed to say, struggling to steady his voice while his breaths came out ragged. 

“Jason, I just wanted to wait for you. I missed you so much.” Nydia sobbed harder, her tears soaking into his shoulder. 

Truth be told, she had been standing there since before dusk, including when she made those distress calls to her sister and brother–in–law. 

She had been waiting, waiting for Jason to walk out with his head held high. 

She didn’t know how long it would take, but no matter how long, she was willing to wait. 

“I missed you too, missed you like crazy” Jason said, his eyes filled with tender concern. He gently wiped away the tears from her 

eyes. 

Then, pressing his hand firmly against the small of her back, he lowered his gaze, which was moist with emotion, and captured her soft lips in a k*ss that was as fierce as it was lingering. 

Evadne watched the lovers reunite after their ordeal, her tears turning to smiles, rubbing her swollen eyes, “Oh, that’s just beautiful. 

Thaddeus wrapped his arm around her waist, whispering huskily in her ear, “Evadne, when we get home, I’ve got something even better for you. 

Blushing, she nestled into his embrace, her cheeks flushing with a coquettish pink. 

“Evadne, you two head home and get some rest, we’re heading back to Skyrim. We’ll be in touch, Chasel said with a smile, waving 

them off.

Evadne had long stopped playing the aloof heiress in front of him, calling Chasel’s name with such familianty, “You really came through for us this time. Just say the word, how can I ever thank you?” 

Chasel blinked thoughtfully, glancing at Cassius’s retreating figure. 

He thought, “Well, I’m not keen on being your brother. I want to be your brother’s boyfriend.” 

But he couldn’t bring himself to say it, fearing it would scare her off

Evadne and Thaddeus, the lovely couple, returned to their cozy love nest in Elmsworth. 

Cassius and Chasel shared a ride, while Jason and Nydia set off together toward Skyrim.

Chasel rolled down the car window, squinting his lazy, alluring eyes, resting his cheek on his hand as he gazed up at the

Chasel teased, turning his head to catch a glimpse of Cassius’s handsomely stoic profile, “I’ve been hanging here, ignored, for over half an hour. I was thinking if I put up with you for one more minute and you still don’t pay me any attention, I’d ignore you forever” 

Cassius’s heart fluttered at his childish tantrum, yet he asked coolly. “Do you often have afternoon tea with the ladies?” 

“Yeah.” 

“You’re young, and you spend your days with women. Doesn’t it bore you?” 

Cassius’s glance was inscrutable as he continued, “You had your freedom abroad, don’t constrain yourself here. Live as you wish” 

“Oh, how should I live then, and would you be able to handle it?” Chasel’s lazy drawl teased him, the allure in his eyes hard to 

resist 

Cassius’s voice was husky, yet he responded coldly. That’s your business, nothing to do with me.” 

“True, President Ashbourne. You have a world to manage, too busy to spare a thought for me, Chasel’s voice betrayed a hint of 

sadness 

Cassius pressed his lips together, holding back his words.

He was not only looking forward to his promise, he was longing for him. 

When Evadne got home, she was utterly exhausted, complaining all the way about how tired she was. 

She truly was tired. 

She was also subtly signaling to her man, hinting that once they 

be they hit the bed, she didn’t want to be tired any longer. 

Stepping out of the car, Thaddeus scooped her up in his arms without missing a beat. The petite woman’s slender legs dangled, her high heels dropping off one after the other, first the left, then the right. 

Thaddeus had no time to deal with the lost shoes, leaving Gordon, begrudgingly, to pick up after Evadne’s trail. 

Back in their room, after they both had taken a refreshing shower, Thaddeus patiently waited as Evadne went through her elaborate skincare routine, from the tips of her hair down to the very tips of her nails. 

By the time they were ready to lie down, daylight had fully embraced the morning. 

Exhausted, the two collapsed onto the bed. Thaddeus wasted no time in pulling his beloved into his embrace, while Evadne used his muscular arm as a pillow, her eyes fluttering shut in a haze of sleepiness. 

“Mmm, you were quite the gentleman today”
