“Absolutely,” Marilla nodded with unwavering certainty.

“Aaron, are you okay?” Marilla, ever so attentive, noticed Aaron’s unusual behavior and asked with a gentle 

voice. 

“Sorry, where’s the restroom?” Aaron’s voice was hoarse as he inquired. 

Thaddeus pointed out the direction, and Aaron quickly turned and strode away with urgency. 

“Evadne, do you recognize this man?” The man wrapped his arm around her waist, asking anxiously. 

Taking a deep breath to steady her swirling emotions, Evadne replied, “He looks remarkably like Hubery, who perished in a plane crash.” 

Thaddeus and Marilla’s eyes widened in disbelief! 

Remembering Hubery, who had died years ago, brought back a pain to the Ashbourne family that could never be healed. Tears welled up in Evadne’s eyes as she murmured softly.
