When Dr. Harrison saw the name on the chart and then gazed at the handsome face before him, he couldn't help but feel a wave of professional pressure. He was, after all, a urologist, and the stakes felt suddenly very high.

"Um. Mr. Thaddeus, what seems to be the problem?" Dr. Harrison's voice quivered slightly, but then he quickly added with a reassuring tone, "Mr. Thaddeus, rest assured, our hospital is highly confidential. Whatever you're here for today, I will keep it under the strictest confidence. Not a word will leave this room!"

Thaddeus wasn't the type to be concerned about idle chatter.

The whole world knew he was smitten with Evadne. He'd only ever love her, only ever marry her. He was entwined with her for life.

Sure, he had pride, but he wouldn't be swayed by what others thought. Even if rumors spread about his virility, he'd shrug it off.

"Doctor, I have a question."

Thaddeus paused, a shadow of concern crossing his brow, "Vasectomy, does it suppress libido?"

"The main purpose of a vasectomy is to prevent sperm from being ejaculated, thus preventing fertilization. It has nothing to do with libido," the doctor explained.

Thaddeus was silent for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Is there any way to suppress libido?"

Dr. Harrison seldom encountered male patients with such a unique request. He hesitated, "Well, the most effective way would be medication. But remember, Mr. Thaddeus, all medications come with side effects. You might want to consider this carefully. In fact, a cold shower could have a similar, albeit temporary, effect."

Cold shower? Did the doctor think he hadn't tried that?

Useless.

His desire for Evadne was so fierce it scared even him, like last night.

Evadne, so proud and strong, was reduced to tears beneath him, pleading for mercy. But all he could think about was possessing her, his body pulsing with an uncontrollable hunger, as if possessed, deaf to everything else.

Just being near her set his passion ablaze.

Coupled with the mental strain from Chad, he feared this tension in his mind could snap again.

He couldn't hurt Evadne anymore.

"Prescribe the medication. Which one can do the job?" Thaddeus didn't hesitate.

"Let's start with some sedatives. They have fewer side effects. A high libido can excite the nervous system, and taking sedative or hypnotic medications can help reduce that excitation."

"Alright."

Thaddeus' lips pressed together, "And schedule the vasectomy as well."

The doctor looked astonished!

Thaddeus' girlfriend was the heiress to the Skyrim fortune, Ms. Ashbourne. Everyone in Elmsworth knew.

A perfect match, both young and beautiful, no children yet, and now a vasectomy?

"I know what you must be thinking."

Pain flickered in Thaddeus' chest, as if countless needles pierced him, his voice hoarse, "Because of my mistake, my wife and I lost a child, and now she cannot carry another. In solidarity with her, I want to do the same. If she can't, neither will I, nor will I even consider it."

Dr. Harrison was taken aback, struck by the depth of Thaddeus' love for Evadne.

Thaddeus stood up slowly, "Please arrange the surgery soonest possible."

Leaving the clinic, Thaddeus took a deep breath and started toward Evadne's hospital room.

Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks and whirled around.

"Those skills you learned in military school, looks like they went in one ear and out the other."

Elvis was leaning lazily against a thick column, arms crossed, his eyes gleaming as he watched Thaddeus.

Thaddeus' eyes widened slightly. He had been so preoccupied with thoughts of Evadne that he hadn't noticed anyone following him. Or perhaps, Elvis' tracking skills were just too good. After all, he was a top-tier agent.

"What are you doing at the urologist? Got issues?" Elvis approached with a taunting look, his gaze drifting down to Thaddeus' fitted black trousers, "From what I've seen, you're not the type to have performance issues."

Thaddeus' expression stiffened.

Was he supposed to say "thank you"?

Just then, a nurse approached and handed him a paper, "Mr. Thaddeus, keep this safe. Please come in at nine tomorrow morning for your surgery."

Thaddeus nodded and took the paper.

As soon as the nurse left, Elvis snatched the paper from his hand, looked at it, and blurted out, "You're getting a vasectomy?"

Thaddeus was speechless.

Could he be any louder? Might as well announce it in the town square.

Realizing he was too boisterous, Elvis clamped his mouth shut and pulled Thaddeus into a secluded corner to talk,

"Man, what stunt are you pulling now?"

"Evadne's condition, you know about it. If I get a vasectomy, she won't have to feel guilty about not being able to conceive. It will also remind me to stay in line," Thaddeus said evenly, but with an undercurrent of strain, trying to make it sound as casual as possible.

But Elvis was no fool. He saw right through him, his frustration boiling over as he grabbed Thaddeus' arm tightly, "Hey, Thaddeus, you’re not usually this petty, are you? I admit I was harsh today, but it was all out of concern for Evadne! You went too far with her last night, and her big brother chews you out, so what? You really going to go through with this?"

Thaddeus gave a wry smile, "Vasectomy doesn't mean losing all function. You're overthinking it. Last night, I did go too far. I'm afraid I might lose control again, so taking precautions is for Evadne's sake."

"That's right, for Lily's funeral."

A sharp pain struck Evadne's heart, and her eyes brimmed with tears, "All that's happened recently, it's just too sad. I hope there won't be any more tragedies like this. I hope everyone finds happiness."

"They will, Evadne. They surely will." His voice was hoarse as he pressed his lips softly against hers.

"I saw how Elvis was resisting today. Looks like his issues might never fully heal," Evadne said with a pout, feeling a little downcast.

Thaddeus pondered for a moment before asking softly, "Evadne, did Aviana really do that?"

"She did have a hysterectomy, but it was her own decision, not forced by anyone."

Suddenly, Evadne remembered the time she vehemently refused to let Aviana enter their home, her eyes cast down as she whispered, "No, it was me who forced her. I said terrible things to keep her out, insulted and belittled her background. I accused her of clinging to Emeric just to climb the social ladder, to use his influence to launder her family's underworld history, to carve up our fortune. So, she had the surgery to prove that her choice to be with Emeric had nothing to do with money. After that, she cut all ties with Mr. Griffith and never returned home."

Thaddeus listened quietly, his heart filled with a mix of emotions as he gently stroked Evadne's head in silent comfort.

"Now, I can't say if Aviana's choice was right or wrong, but I can't blame her, hate her. She's been good to me, to Emeric, and to my brothers and sisters, just like Suri and Myra."

Tears welled up in Evadne's eyes, "That's why I feel I'm the truly wicked one. Maybe it's because of my youthful recklessness, my thoughtless words, that Aviana lost her right to motherhood. And now, the retribution has come upon me."

Thaddeus instantly covered her lips, his chest heaving with pain as if gouged by a knife, "Evadne, don't say that. It's not your fault, it has nothing to do with you. If there's any retribution, it should be directed at me."

Evadne's warm kisses peppered his palm, "Your 'retribution' has already come. You're bound to me for life. And let me tell you, I'm not an easy woman to handle."

In the early morning hours.

The Velvet Haven was still a den of hedonistic excess.

In a luxurious private room, Avery was negotiating a deal worth billions with a prominent buyer from Tystoria.

This new shipment, if successfully delivered to Tystoria and capturing the market there, would open up vast new opportunities. Billions would soon multiply.

As the stakes grew, so did the profits, beyond measure.

Avery and the buyer clinked glasses, his mastery of multiple languages allowing him to converse with ease and elegance.

It was hard to tell if his cultured demeanor was innate or honed through years at his mentor's side, but this refined man's behind-the-scenes dealings were monstrously vile.

A knock on the door interrupted them.

Harvey entered, rushed to Avery's side, and whispered urgently,

"Mr. Chambers, the Bright family has arrived."
