Tarquin was all grace and manners when he spoke to Bertram,

"Emmett is such a good kid, bringing us joy and warmth in spades, and that's truly priceless."

"And I want to thank you, too, for your understanding, and for agreeing to let Emmett continue living with us."

"Don't mention it, we're all here for Emmett's sake."

After a bit of small talk, Bertram learned that Elysia and Tarquin had spent the night at the hospital with Maria, and he immediately insisted they go home to rest.

"I'll stay here with Maria. If anything comes up, I'll call you. You two head back and get some rest, and take Emmett with you. Hospitals are crawling with germs."

With Maria's grandpa there, Elysia felt reassured.

She was indeed exhausted and said her goodbyes to Bertram before leaving.

Emmett even shared his homemade breakfast with Bertram, who was deeply touched and showered his grandson with praise.

A mix of doting, pride, and admiration!

Before leaving the hospital, Elysia took Emmett to see Blossom, bringing her breakfast as well.

She also shared Bertram's decision with her, putting her at ease.

Blossom was immensely moved,

"There's our beloved Bertram from Winona, always so generous! I've decided to stop fawning over those young celebs; I'm all about Team Emmett now!"

Elysia, in a good mood, laughed and said,

"Bertram's planning to settle in Jindale City for Emmett. When Winona comes back for the holidays, she'll be over the moon."

Blossom exclaimed excitedly,

"Not just Winona, I'm ecstatic! Emmett, I'm sticking close to you from now on!"

"Emmett, that new perfume your grandpa designed, can you snag one for Blossom?"

"And, oh! Your grandpa's summer collection and that fall collection that's already hot on social media before its release, can you get those for Blossom too?"

Elysia chuckled on the side, "I'll get one for Winona too."

"Emmett's grandpa showing up was a shock, but I wasn't as nervous."

"Seeing him, I didn't feel the unease I did with Cecil and Claire."

"Honestly, even if Emmett did end up with him, I wouldn't worry much. The old man has wealth and character; Emmett would have a bright future with him."

She didn't want to hand Emmett over to Cecil and Claire, mainly because she couldn't bear to be apart from him.

But most importantly, Cecil's family environment would only ruin Emmett!

Tarquin leaned back against the headboard, cradling her with one arm and gently stroking her hair,

"This turned out pretty well."

"Yeah! It's good, I'm satisfied, and deeply moved."

Elysia pondered deeply, then thought of Claire.

"Though I really don't want to speak ill of Claire, she is Emmett's biological mother. For Emmett's sake, let's arrange a funeral for her, shall we?"
