Chapter 15 Patted Her Waist 

The man’s voice confirmed Rose’s suspicion. 

It was him! He was right here! 

Shocked, Rose felt as if she had been electrocuted. Almost on instinct, she wanted to push him away. 

But Jonathan seemed to have seen through her thoughts. Placing his large palm on the back of her waist, he pulled her closer. “Don’t move. Do you want everyone to know that you tried to seduce me in the room just now?” 

“–” 

She was not trying to seduce him! Rose wanted to retort, but a threatening glare from him silenced her. 

She grimaced beneath her mask, but she obediently continued dancing. He took the lead, and they danced quite well together. 

But Jonathan did not seem satisfied just yet. Her body was too tense. 

“Relax!” Jonathan discreetly patted her waist. 

Rose was startled. 

His actions felt like he was teasing her flirtatiously. He was harassing her! 

Rose glared at him to communicate her resistance. 

Jonathan raised an eyebrow and smirked. They were legally married. Patting her waist was no big deal. At most, it was considered a bit of flirting between a married couple. 

The other guests did not notice those movements. The two people in the middle of the dance floor looked especially good together. 

One of them was tall and stately, whereas the other had a graceful figure. The man’s black suit also matched the woman’s red attire very well. 

But Nixon could keenly sense that something was off between the two. His expression was foul.

Just now, after receiving the message from Hank, Kelly wanted to figure out 

why Rose had not gone to the room. 

But as soon as she knocked on the door. Hank pulled her in.

Kelly was furious. It should have been Rose, but she was the one who got stuck in that room instead. 

And Rose was dancing with Jonathan! 

Suddenly, she overheard two guests whispering to each other. 

“Did Mr. Finch fall for Ms. Rose? But she’s Mr. Lane’s fiancée!” 

“How can Nixon compare to Mr. Finch? With a snap of his fingers, Mr. Finch could affect the whole of Veridian, and maybe even the entire world! 

“I heard from an insider that Nixon is currently facing funding issues for a few of his projects. If he doesn’t patch those holes soon, he’ll be done for…” 

The alarm bells went on inside Kelly’s head. She had no clue Nixon was in that much trouble! 

If Nixon was already done for, it was pointless for her to be with him anymore. Kelly was even more furious now. 

She had planned on using Hank to destroy Rose, but her plan had failed. 

Suddenly, she remembered the camera she planted in the room. She realized that everything that happened between her and Hank had been recorded. 

She reached into her bag to take out her phone so that she could delete the video. 

But she could not find her phone anywhere. 

Kelly panicked. She hurried back to the room on the second floor. Even after searching every corner, she failed to find her phone. 

She was terrified. If the video got out, she would be ruined! 

While she was thinking about this, she heard Nixon’s urgent voice coming 

from the staircase. “Caleb, find out if Rose spoke to Uncle Jonathan when she went missing.” 

Nixon’s expression was dark. 

He refused to believe that Jonathan would dance with Rose for no reason. He detected possessiveness in the way Jonathan treated Rose.
