Chapter 189 Take It Easy 

Reflected in the mirror, Jonathan’s complexion appeared pallid, and his lips mirrored the same pallor Nevertheless, the evident marks of the cracked lips were hard to miss. 

Jonathan remembered Rose’s bite last night and noticed Zac’s gaze becoming more 

mocking 

“What are you looking at?” Jonathan threw the mirror back in Zac’s direction

Zac swiftly caught it and couldn’t help but tease, “Mr. Finch, you’re ured, you ought to go easy on yourself!” 

“Get lost” Jonathan closed his eyes and issued the order to leave. 

He was aware of his injury. Without the injury, last night would have been more than a kiss. He had never had self–control when it came to Rose. 

Zac sneered and turned to leave, but Jonathan suddenly stopped him, “Zac…” 

Zac turned back. 

“Mr. Finch, do you have any instructions?” 

“Take care of Rose for me.” 

Jonathan stared into Zac’s eyes and spoke seriously, “I’m being followed. I need to keep a low profile around Rose for a while. If those from Regalia discover that Rose is a vulnerability for me, they might exploit her to control me. I can’t risk putting Rose in harm’s way.” 

Zac understood his meaning. 

“No need to fret, I’ll handle things with beauty. I’m skilled at it!” 

Rose went to Celeste Jewels early in the morning. As soon as she entered Century Tower, a voice 

called out to her. 

“Rose…” 

The voice was unfamiliar to Rose. 

She turned around in confusion and saw a girl walking towards her. When the girl reached her, Rose looked at her with a puzzled expression and asked, “Are you looking for me?‘ 

“I am.” The girl extended her hand, “My name is Madeline Chambers. Can I take up a bit of your time?” 

Amid the bustling ball last night, Rose found herself oblivious to Madeline Chambers. Yet, amidst the chaos, the last name Chambers lingered in Rose’s memory. 

Rose quickly identified that the woman before her was one of the main figures from the ball last night. She was the elder sister of the Chambers twins.

Madeline didn’t expect Rose to invite her to her territory. After a moment of contemplation, Madeline agreed. The two headed to Celeste Jewels. Inside the office, the staff were busy at work. 

Rose guided Madeline into her office. 

Once Sherlyn served them coffee and exited the room, Rose directly asked, “Ms. Chambers, how may I assist you? Please feel comfortable expressing yourself.” 

Madeline thought of Miles and frowned. 

She stared at Rose and asked, “You’re indeed beautiful, but I heard you’re married?” 

Rose found herself speechless at Madeline’s inquiry. Both her looks and her marital status appeared unrelated to Madeline. 

Nonetheless, she promptly responded, “Yes, I am married.” 

“Then what is your relationship with Miles?” 

Madeline didn’t like beating around the bush. She wanted to address this matter directly and resolve it as soon as possible. Rose frowned. 

“Miles and 1…” 

While Rose spoke, she fixed her gaze on Madeline. Madeline seemed very nervous about Rose’s 

answer. 

Suddenly, a guess formed in her mind. Connecting it to those who caused her troubles last night, Rose quickly grasped that Madeline had misunderstood her relationship with Miles 

“Ms. Chambers, did you arrange the troublemakers from last night who targeted me?‘ Rose asked with a calm tone. 

Madeline was stunned. While it wasn’t her arrangement, they intended to help her. Seeing Madeline’s reaction, Rose couldn’t help but sneer. At that moment, Rose’s phone rang. 

Seeing the caller ID showing “Miles“, she couldn’t help but feel that it was the perfect timing. 

“Ms. Chambers, do you mind if I take this call?” 

Rose raised her phone. Madeline was taken aback. Before she could respond, Rose had already answered the call on speakerphone. 

“Rose, you

Puzzled, Rose cast a glance at Madeline. Madeline appeared more and more anxious. 

On the phone, Miles simply stated, “You’ll find out in due time,” and then ender the call. 

Rose glanced at her phone, feeling perplexed, but decided not to dwell on it. Meanwhile, Madeline became increasingly anxious and uncertain about what to do. 

Rose looked at her and smiled. 

“What… Why are you smiling?” 

Madeline was a little embarrassed. She came to talk to Rose, asking her not to get involved with Miles. But with Rose’s smile, she found herself at a disadvantage.
