Chapter 482: Just Want to Date Someone?
Julia looked at Finnley and said, "But she..."
"Julia, Lana is different from the one you used to know since she left Manches City all these years," Finnley interrupted her.
Julia was silenced by Finnley's words. She watched Lana leave with a sour face for the second time tonight and thought about Lana's intention earlier.
It was like fulfilling a prediction.
The bystander sees more than the player.
Finnley stood aside, and he might be the one who saw the clearest.
When Julia thought about this, she withdrew her gaze and said, "I will talk to her properly some other day. I won't cross any boundaries, so don't worry."
Only then did Finnley let go of Julia. "You should be more careful and not be used by others as a tool," he said.
Julia nodded softly. "I understand."
Finnley then glanced ahead and asked Julia in a low voice, "Did she apologize? Did she make things difficult for you?"
Finnley lowered his voice when he asked the question.
Finnley had seen too many people who were spoilt and pampered in this circle.
Finnley didn't know Yanis, but he had heard too many versions of the story about Zane and Yanis in the past few days from many people.
So Finnley couldn't help but be curious. He suggested that Julia should apologize to Yanis under Zane's pressure.
Then Yanis must know that Julia's apology was due to Zane's cause. Would she be so petty as to make things difficult for Julia for this reason?
If so, Yanis would indeed be too petty and not worthy of Zane.
While thinking about it, Julia's voice rang in her ears. "She didn't make things difficult for me."
Julia's gaze fell on Yanis, who was talking to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis in the crowd. "She's not a bad person."
After hearing Julia's words, Finnley was a little surprised and turned his head to look at Julia. "Have you changed your mind about her so quickly?"
"Brother, maybe you were right," Julia said, hooking Finnley's arm with her hand.
"What did I say?" Finnley raised his eyebrows.
Julia did not intend to tell Finnley about Lana's situation just now. She asked instead, "Isn't Sydney coming? I haven't seen her yet."
Finnley checked the time and replied, "She should be on her way. She sent me a message before that she was leaving."
"When are you going to introduce her to your parents? My mom asked about your relationship a few days ago."
Finnley replied softly, "Julia, what you think of Sydney?"
Julia stared at him, looking shocked. "Is she not good enough? Don't you know it yourself? She is your girlfriend of your own choice."
Finnley chuckled. "I think she's good, but... I have no plans to get married at the moment."
Julia looked at him in disbelief. "Are you just playing with her?"
"No," Finnley replied, "After people get married, they will quarrel over trivial things and even fight over minor household matters. Even the best relationships will slowly wear down due to these issues. In the end, they will face divorce and separation. In worse cases, they will hurt each other. It's better not to get married at all."
Julia, after hearing Finnley's words, asked directly, "So you just want to date?"
Finnley was silent for a few seconds. "I can't say that for sure," he said. "Maybe one day I will marry her on impulse. After all, you can't stay unmarried all your life, or Mom and Dad will kick me out."
Julia laughed. "Then you know yourself very well."
Finnley patted Julia on the head. "You should worry less about me and more about yourself."
Julia retorted, "What's wrong with me?
"Are you not planning to try the most addictive thing in this world - love and romance?"
"I haven't thought about it for now."
"Don't you like that person? Why don't you have the courage to confess? Shall I help you?"
Julia rolled her eyes and said, "Can you stop meddling? When you were chasing Sydney, did someone help you confess or chase her?"
Finnley replied, "That's different. I'm a man, and I have thick skin. Even if Sydney rejected me back then, I could still find her and confess again. But you are a girl. If someone rejects you, you won't have the courage to confess again. What if that person is waiting for you to confess again? You might miss out on it."
Julia retorted, "That's you. Even if I confess a hundred times, the man won't agree if he doesn't like me."
As soon as Finnley finished speaking, Sydney's voice came from behind.
When Finnley heard the voice, he quickly let go of Julia and turned to Sydney standing behind him, "You're here."
Sydney ignored Finnley and looked at Julia, saying softly, "Julia, don't listen to your brother's nonsense."
Julia smiled and replied, "I'll just listen to what he has to say."
Finnley exclaimed, "I am your biological brother."
Julia said, "But Sydney is still my real sister-in-law."
Finnley chuckled at this and said, "Okay, I'll have to listen to her from now on."
The things Finnley said earlier were just between him and Julia, a "little secret" between siblings. He definitely wouldn't say such things in front of Sydney. If he did, the only result for the two of them would be a breakup.
"Okay, you guys go do whatever you need to do, I'm going to find my parents," Julia said as she said goodbye and went to find Joey and Mrs. Ellis.
Sydney stood next to Finnley and watched as Julia walked away before turning to him and asking, "Is there any special artwork today?"
Finnley glanced at her and asked, "Do you want to buy some art?"
Sydney nodded and said, "I have a friend who really likes art, so I want to buy a painting to give to him."
"Then let me take you to see if there's something you like," Finnley said.
Sydney nodded and they went off to look at the art.
When Julia walked up to Mrs. Ellis and stood next to her, Yanis was explaining the meaning behind her artwork to Joey.
Julia listened to the conversation and couldn't help but think Yanis was really impressive. Having witnessed Joey's severity, especially when it came to artwork, Julia felt that his demands were so high that even the previous artists who had been criticized by Joey didn't deserve it. Julia thought that their artwork was great, but Joey would always nitpick and find a problem, giving them a good "reprimanding."
But now, as Joey listened to Yanis, his satisfaction couldn't be contained.
"My dad isn't just going easy on her because I did something wrong to her, right?" Julia whispered to Mrs. Ellis after listening for a while.
Mrs. Ellis lightly patted her on the head and said, "Nonsense, is your dad that kind of person?"
Julia shook her head and said, "No, he's not."
