“Bonnie, did you say you miss me?” Ivor usually never heard her saying that out loud. After hearing it, he grinned.

Bonnie did not deny it. “Do you think you’re the only one who can feel that way? Of course, I miss you.”

“Yeah, you can feel that way!” Ivor said affectionately, “I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Bonnie blushed before clearing her throat to hide her shyness. “Um, if you miss me so much, you’ll have to finish your work and come home to me.”

She had repeated herself countless times because she did not know what else to say to him. Bonnie had always been passive in their relationship. Mostly, Ivor was the one who took charge, and she would only follow his lead.

Meanwhile, Collin was listening to their conversation. He could not take it anymore when Bonnie told Ivor she missed him.

‘Can the chief be any cornier?’

Ivor said playfully, “All right, I’ll finish my work and return to you quickly. It must be hard for you not to see me as often as you’d like. I can just imagine how disappointed you feel.”

Bonnie was already shy but grew uneasy when he teased her. She retorted, “I never said I hate not seeing you as often as I’d lie. Cut it out!”

“Stop right there!” Bonnie stopped him when she realized he was about to flirt with her sexually.

She could tolerate it if it were just them, but Collin was listening. Bonnie knew her husband would say genuinely embarrassing things at inappropriate times, and she could not bear such shame.

Ivor realized he had overstepped his bounds and feared he might upset her. He also thought Bonnie would refuse to answer his future calls, so he stopped teasing her. Instead, he said, “Okay, I’ll stop.”

Bonnie could only roll her eyes.
