Moved by Ivor’s words, Bonnie felt a lump in her throat. Although she was not sentimental, Ivor had always worn his heart on his sleeve around her. She could feel his sincerity and effort to soothe her.

Bonnie rechecked the time and realized she had to rush to prepare for tonight.

‘It looks like I’ll have to tell Ivor how I feel when I return to Pyralis. Considering my current situation, this isn’t the right time to say such things. After all, I have a pressing matter to tend to. I’ll finally reunite with him once I’ve completed my mission.’

With that in mind, Bonnie suppressed her emotions and said, “Well, it’s time to hang up. I’ll have to deal with things here before I can call you again. If I’m still busy tonight, it’ll have to wait till tomorrow.”

Initially, she wanted to tell Ivor she would call him back sooner. However, she could not predict what would happen tonight. Bonnie did not want Ivor to wait by the phone all night, so she told him she might call tomorrow.

“All right, get back to work, honey.” Ivor feared Bonnie would feel bad if she hung up, so he did it first.

Collin looked down at Bonnie’s phone when he realized Ivor had hung up. Soon after, Collin broke the silence, saying, “Jeez, Chief. You and Ivor are so in love. I want a relationship like yours just by listening to you two talk.”

Bonnie smiled at first. Then, she thought about her dinner with Billy and frowned, saying, “All right, that’s enough chit-chat. I must prepare for tonight, or I’ll blow my cover.”

Although she had never gotten caught with her pants down, she knew being prepared was crucial nonetheless. Moreover, she never underestimated her enemies.

Collin did not argue. Instead, he said, “I’ll let you get back to it. I’ll tell you if your husband calls or texts. You can count on me.”
