“Now, why would I do something so foolish?”

Bonnie heard Keenan’s response and got invested in his answer. “Well. What are you going to do, then?”

He chuckled wickedly and said, “Back when I was on a mission in the rainforest, I came across some herbs that’d make all of its targets’ hair fall off. I must only squeeze its saps into Sienna’s food discreetly, and she’ll turn into a baldy.

“I guarantee you that none of her hair would stay on. What’s more, it’ll even ruin her hair follicles. It wouldn’t grow back for the next few years.”

What he said painted a picture in her mind. In less than a second, she conjured up the image of a bald, hairless Sienna.

It was hilarious.

“What kind of herb are we talking about here?”

“It doesn’t grow anywhere in the vicinity. You can only find it in rainforests, but I’m unsure about its name. I took some pictures. Here.”

Pulling out his phone, he showed her the pictures he had taken.

She stared at it for a while. “I haven’t seen anything like it. I will ask someone to get me some samples when I have the time.”

“Are you going to do it yourself? That’s a bad idea, given your identity. You don’t use a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Let me do it instead.” He thought she intended to squeeze the sap into Sienna’s food.

A burst of laughter escaped her. Then, she said, “I didn’t think you’d know about this saying, too. Sienna is nothing but a clown. So, why should we go to all this trouble just to deal with her?”

“Well. What do you need the herb for, then?” He didn’t understand it and scratched his head.

Then, she changed the topic at once. “When are you going to come back?”

“That’s what I’m calling you for. My grandparents will celebrate their seventieth birthday, and I’m the only grandson they ever had. My dad asked me to extend my leave because I was never home. He wanted me to organize their birthday parties.”

“This is a good thing! You’re the only grandson. You have an excellent reason to organize it. It’s not just that. You have to make sure you do a good job with it.”

“But…” His brows knitted tightly. “I’m not that worried about what Sienna is doing as much as I’m worried about the fact that the person who wanted to assassinate you might pop up at any given moment.”

Keenan patted his chest and said, “Don’t worry about it. You’ve got me by Ms. Bonita’s side. Everything’s going to be peachy. After all, I swore that no harm would befall her for as long as I breathed. Go ahead and extend your leave, Master Jim. You can extend it for a couple of years if you want.”

“How dare you say that, you punk? Are you trying to replace me as Ms. Bonita’s bodyguard?” he said exasperatedly.
