Chapter 154 Sign the Agreement

Harper had calmed down while waiting outside, but seeing his attitude now reignited her displeasure and anger. She suppressed her frustration and asked, "Benjamin, why are you doing this? This project isn't just benefiting me alone. Summit Realty relies on it to support all its employees this year. It's not just me and Summit Realty who'll suffer. Your company will take a hit, too."

Benjamin's expression barely changed, and his tone remained indifferent. "There's no 'why'. I simply find this project unsatisfactory and don't wish to continue."

"Just because he finds it unsatisfactory and doesn't wish to continue..." she repeated inwardly.

His words sounded light, but they would come at a heavy cost for others.

Harper looked at the person before her, feeling a strange familiarity mixed with distance. He was right before her, yet there was a tremendous gap between them.

She stared at him blankly as he continued, "It's not my concern about the project partners. After all, you've already filed for divorce. As for Summit Realty, that's just how it goes. If it can't weather the storms, it should exit. However, this project won't end here. The Martin Group will recruit new partners to complete it."

Benjamin's words left Harper completely stunned.

She thought, "He wants to recruit new partners to complete the project? Isn't that telling everyone that Summit Realty and I have been ousted? I don't mind being kicked out, but Summit Realty shouldn't be treated that way."

Her eyes were cold. Her words angered Benjamin, stirring up storms in his heart.

Their eyes locked, Benjamin's gaze icy as he stared at her. "So even at this moment, you still insist on divorce?"

"What? Are you only acting this way because of my insistence on divorce? Your behavior makes it hard not to think you've fallen for me. But your heart has never truly been mine. So I really don't understand you. On the one hand, you do things that make me think you're deeply in love with me, and on the other, you're so heartless that you won't even give a shred of sincerity. Such a marriage is a torture for me."
