Chapter 178 Adopted Sister

"It's just a couple friends going over. You know, Benjamin doesn't like overly crowded occasions. He gets annoyed when there are too many people and too much noise, so at most ten people will attend."

"Uh-huh."

"So you have to be there. It's Benjamin's birthday after all. Harper, I've never pleaded with you before. This time, I'm begging you to go."

With Larry's continued persuasion, Harper finally agreed.

After all, she and Benjamin were married, and he was just having a birthday. Wouldn't it be ridiculous if she didn't even agree to that?

Watching Harper nod, Larry was happy and said, "Then that's settled. We'll leave a day early then. Let's exchange contact information so I can get in touch with you in time if there's a problem."

"How about we come out for a drink?"

"Are you so interested?" Larry grinned and finally agreed with Benjamin to go to the clubhouse for a drink.

Larry told Benjamin about Harper's reaction and the fact that Harper had promised to accompany him on his birthday. Benjamin didn't have an expression on his face when he heard it but seemed to smile.

It was eleven o'clock at night when they finished their drinks at the clubhouse.

Curtis came over to pick Benjamin up and take him back to Pineview Villa. On the way, Curtis said of his own accord, "Mr. Martin, I found out what you asked me to find out about Annie."

"Go ahead."

Benjamin closed his eyes and said calmly.

Curtis said, "Annie was from Dattlech and went to the same high school as Mrs. Martin. They became close friends because of their similar family situations. In addition, Annie was the adopted daughter of the Jones family of Dattlech and the adopted sister of Anderson Jones, the current heir to the Jones family."

"Anderson's adopted sister?"

"Yes."

"The Jones family keeps Annie's identity a secret. I found out through the Jones family's servants. I heard that the relationship between Anderson and Annie is not as simple as brother and sister. Anderson is very controlling towards Annie. Though he has been coupled with another woman, he doesn't allow Annie to frequent with men."

"Is that so?" Benjamin narrowed his eyes slightly, the profundity and gloom deepening underneath them. "Does the Jones family know anything about Harper's relationship with Annie?"
