Harper frowned, feeling helpless.

Benjamin glanced at Annie, who was standing next to the car, and said in a lukewarm voice, "Do you expect me to keep doing what I did in the hospital elevator by not saying anything?"

The hospital elevator?

Harper's cheeks instantly reddened. She frowned tightly, staring at him with displeasure. "You're such an asshole."

"So do you want to prepare a gift for me?"

Benjamin narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone low and husky.

"Do you feel accomplished by the gift you get with such threats?"

She was very speechless and thought, "Is he ready to lose even his dignity for a gift?"

"Harper, all you have to do is tell me if you want to prepare. As for whether or not I'm accomplishing, do you care?"

Benjamin smiled lightly. The hint in his eyes was clear, and it was as if he was slowly moving closer to her.

Harper froze, becoming very defensive and breathing heavily.

The next second, she heard Benjamin say slowly in a low, husky voice, "Harper, I get it. You didn't want to prepare a gift because you actually wanted me to kiss you. Right?"

Benjamin's low voice carried the ultimate compulsion, and he then leaned right over and tried to kiss her.

It was the moment Harper realized he was serious. She put one hand against his chest and said sharply, "I have prepared."

Benjamin smiled and asked, "What have you prepared?"

"I have prepared your birthday gift."

Harper stared at him in a daze, her hand still touching his chest because she wanted to resist his approach. Feeling his chest rigid and strong, she felt that if she relaxed her strength just a little bit, he would be bound to press right down the next second.

Her answer caused Benjamin's low voice to reveal a few light laughs. "Not because I push you, you have prepared it a long time ago. Right?"

"Yes."

Then she went straight into the bedroom, closing the door behind her as well.

Looking at her, Annie guessed that something must have happened in the car. Otherwise, the rational and calm Harper wouldn't be like this.

She pressed her lips together slightly and smiled gently.

Her cell phone rang the next moment.

Seeing the name on the screen, she changed her expression slightly and picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"When will you be back?"

"Didn't you give me a week? It's only been two or three days now."

Anderson, on the other end of the phone, said coldly, "Annie, he's already looking into your whereabouts. Who do you think can keep your whereabouts hidden after you left Dattlech?
