Chapter 285 Bon Voyage

But she hadn't been silent long before Benjamin called.

On the phone, Benjamin said, "I'm leaving Mayby in the evening for a business trip to Teninus."

"Are you leaving tonight?"

"Yes."

"Okay. How long are you going to be?"

He said in a low voice, "Two or three days."

Harper said, "Okay."

And then they went quiet.

After a few seconds, Benjamin whispered, "There's nothing more you want to say?"

"Bon voyage?"

He laughed out loud, and the sound of it reaching her ears through the cell phone left her subconsciously stunned.

She thought, "What's so funny about that?"

"Is it funny?" She asked.

"Harper, is that all you want to say?"

"You're going to have a business trip for two or three days. What's wrong with me telling you bon voyage?"

"No, there's no problem. Maybe I'm the one with the problem." His tone spilled instantly into displeasure. Then, he said coldly, "Why don't you move back into the Martin Manor for the few days I'm traveling? It just so happens that my mom misses you. She and Grandpa would be happiest to see you back."

"I'll visit them, but I don't want to move there. It's too much of a hassle and not very convenient. I can take care of Grandma if I live in the apartment, so that's it."

Since she had said so, Benjamin didn't insist.

However, he still instructed her, "It's better to let the driver take you to and from work."

"Okay. I got it. So do you have any more arrangements?"

"Arrangements?" He grunted, the displeasure in his voice heavier. "Harper, you think I'm making arrangements? I'm being concerned about you. Tsk!"

Harper stopped talking.

She thought, "I can never seem to talk my way out of him, not at all."

But they were still married now, and something was justified.

It was just that there was always a feeling in her heart that she couldn't put her finger on.

She was well aware that some changes had taken place between them, and it was probably impossible to go back to the way nothing had happened.

Harper had Benjamin's luggage all ready for him before he returned. She was very skilled at such things, as she had organized it many times in the year she had been married to Benjamin.

But it was the first time she'd done so since the two of them proposed divorce.

Harper broke a sweat after organizing the luggage. Not knowing if it was her pregnancy or not, she felt like her body temperature was a little higher than normal. And she sweated with the slightest movement.

Since she was the only one in the bedroom, she just took off her loungewear and was left with just a sports bra, revealing her slightly bulging belly. But her waist and arms were the same as before she was pregnant.

Harper stretched out with her face toward the window, not noticing that Benjamin had returned at some point. He was standing in the doorway with the bedroom door pushed open and watching her.

Her skin was delicate, and it looked even more so against the black sports bra.

Benjamin narrowed his eyes slightly and closed the door directly behind him before walking towards her and taking her into his arms from behind.

"Ah!"
