Chapter 40 Everyone Thought Harper Was Pregnant

When everyone was going to the lobby, Paul said, "Harper, could you please help me get up?"

"Okay." Harper walked over quickly.

Paul deliberately slowed down his pace and waited until everyone had entered the hall before he said to Harper, "Harper, don't worry."

"Grandpa, I still don't want to let him know that I am pregnant."

"Okay, don't worry."

Paul patted her back to comfort her gently.

Harper breathed a sigh of relief.

Yinson, the family doctor who came for a physical examination, has worked for the Martin family for many years, so they are familiar with each other.

After everyone sat down, Benjamin said, "Yinson, I appreciate your help. Harper's stomach are not very good recently and she often vomits. I don't know what caused it."

Yinson paused for a moment and smiled, but before he could speak, Paul said, "Please check my heart first. I feel my heartbeat is too fast. Can you check if there's a problem?"

As soon as he heard that Paul's heart was not feeling well, Scott immediately asked worriedly, "Dad, are you okay?"

"Don't be nervous. It's nothing. I just want Yinson to take a look at me. Okay, I'll go back to the room and lie down. You can come to the room and check my body."

Yinson nodded and followed Paul back to the room with the stethoscope he carried with him.

Scott wanted to follow them but was rejected.

Lily looked puzzled. "What's wrong with Dad? Why is he so mysterious?"

Benjamin also looked at Paul's back with an incomprehensible expression. As the person involved, Harper naturally knew the reason.

So she said softly, "Grandpa must be tired. He hasn't had much rest all morning. It's a good idea to let Yinson check his body, see if there is something wrong in time."

"Yes, Harper said is right. Okay, let's not worry anymore." Lily also thought it made sense and then asked a servant to wash the fruits and bring them to Harper. "You haven't eaten much; eat some Fruit. At least it can make you feel a little better.

"Okay, thank you, Lily." Harper nodded.

About ten minutes later, Yinson came out of Paul's bedroom.

Scott immediately asked, "Yinson, is my dad okay?"

"He's okay. His body is robust, don't worry."

"Really?"

"Why would I lie to you?" Yinson smiled and then walked towards Harper. "Come on, let me check your body."

Harper nodded, and Yinson began to examine her body and finally said, "It's not a big problem. It's just a bad appetite caused by the stomach. Just eat something less greasy and rest regularly for a while. Remember to stay away from tiredness and keep joyful."

Yinson began to give instructions carefully.

The more Lily listened, the more amused she felt. She said, "Yinson, if you hadn't said that Harper just had a stomach, I would have thought that Harper was pregnant."

Lily's inadvertent words made everyone aware of something.

Hearing what Lily said, Harper began to press her lips and became stiff. She subconsciously looked at Benjamin and found out that he was also staring at her.

They looked at each other. Harper quit looking at him. After just a second or two, she quickly lowered her head and looked away.

But Benjamin still stared at her, thinking why her reaction was obviously so strange that she tried running away from him.

Yinson only responded calmly, "She will have a baby in the future. Now she should pay attention to taking good care of herself."

"Thank you, Yinson." Harper thanked him.

Yinson just smiled slightly and said, "You're welcome. Just take care of yourself. If you don't feel good again, you can come to me directly."

Gordon said to Benjamin, "Benjamin, Paul asked you to see him now. He has something to tell you."

"Only me?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

Benjamin stood up and was about to go to Paul's room but then stopped. He glanced at Harper on the sofa and whispered, "Wait for me here."

Before Harper could respond, he had already gone to see Paul.

Harper paused, wondering why he told her to wait for him here.

In Paul's bedroom, after Benjamin came in, Paul asked him to sit down, who seemed much calmer than he used to be.

Benjamin asked, "Grandpa, are you looking for me?"

"Well, I have something to ask you alone."

"Yeah, what do you want to know?"

Paul seemed serious yet sounded very gentle. "Do you really want to divorce Harper?"

Frowning, Benjamin stared at him and said, "Grandpa, I don't understand your question."

"Are your pretending not to understand what I said?"

"I thought you accepted our divorce, grandpa. Why do you start to ask such a question?" Benjamin looked at Paul and asked in confusion.

Paul put on a poker face. He just said calmly, "You were supposed to marry Kimberly at first, but Henry found me and almost begged me to let you marry Harper, do you know why?"
