Chapter 493 Tell Me Why

Frank smiled faintly and said, "Harper, you've followed me all the way here, so how could you not understand what I mean?"

Harper realized that he knew she had been following him.

She looked up into Frank's eyes, her tone cold. "So, do you have anything to tell me?"

Frank didn't answer immediately, looking at her for a moment before he said, "I'm well-prepared. Can you sit down and have a meal with me?"

Harper remained silent.

Harper's fingers trembled slightly, but she eventually agreed to his request.

They walked over to the table and sat down. A delicate, small birthday cake was placed on the table, along with some fruit and a few of Harper's favorite dishes.

He said, "All of this is my own cooking. Try some?"

"Frank, you still haven't answered my question. Can you tell me now?"

"Harper, are you in such a hurry to draw a clear line with me?"

Frank chuckled, but his eyes were filled with sadness.

Harper felt a pang of sympathy. She turned her head to avoid looking at him and said coldly, "That's not what I mean. Since you already know, why can't you just explain it to me?"

"What should I say? Say that I'm involved in this or not?"

He gave a light laugh, his response already speaking volumes.

He said, "Harper, don't you already have the answer?"

"But I want to know what you're thinking."

"I have no thoughts," she responded calmly, without any hint of her true feelings or emotions.

Frank stiffened, feeling disappointed, and asked, "Harper, don't feel pressured. I'll take full responsibility for all the consequences. Don't worry, okay?"

"Frank, don't you realize how serious this is? Why did you do this? I can't think of a reasonable reason or excuse. I really don't understand why."

Harper finally couldn't hold back herself. She frowned tightly, her expression revealing clear anxiety and irritation.

Her questioning left Frank speechless, and the usually calm him appeared bewildered. After a long while, he murmured softly, "Harper, don't get angry. You're pregnant now, and your health is the most important thing."
