Chapter 518 Criminal

The next morning, the first sunlight shone through the glass of the villa.

Harper was up early. She couldn't go outside, so she could just hang around in the living room.

Mina saw her when she got up to prepare breakfast and she asked softly, "Mrs. Martin, are you hungry? I'll go prepare breakfast now."

"No, no need to hurry. I just got enough sleep."

Harper was on her third day here, and she had nothing to do and felt it was pointless.

She thought for a moment and opened the door. The bodyguard outside the door immediately stood up straight to block the doorway. "Mrs. Martin, you can't go out without Mr. Martin's permission. Please don't embarrass us, okay?"

"I'm not going out, I'm just asking you guys to tell him I want a pen and paper, and I need to work."

She finished indifferently and watched as the two bodyguards made no move, so she asked again, "What's wrong? Is it not even possible?"

The bodyguards looked at each other and lowered their heads. "I need to ask Mr. Yost."

Harper stood just inside the doorway, waiting, and the bodyguard couldn't argue with her, so he had to dial Curtis's number right in front of her.

Just as the call connected and the bodyguard was about to speak, Harper suddenly rushed over and grabbed his cell phone.

The bodyguard said helplessly, "Mrs. Martin."

Harper was pregnant, and she was Benjamin's wife, so the bodyguard couldn't do anything to her at all, and he didn't even dare to take back the cell phone she was holding. He could only keep his distance and watch her helplessly.

Harper picked up the phone and asked directly, "Curtis, is it? You ask him when exactly he's going to let me out."

Curtis heard her call Benjamin by name for the first time, and he didn't dare to look at Benjamin directly for fear that Benjamin would blame him for it.

He took a breath silently and whispered apprehensively, "Mrs. Martin, if there's nothing else, that'll be all for now."

Curtis wanted to hang up. If he continued, he really didn't know what else would happen.

He pursed his lips, not daring to take a breath. Curtis watched as Benjamin's strong fingertips tapped lightly on the desktop, as if to tell Curtis that his patience was running out.

Harper, however, coldly asked before he hung up, "Are you with him? He's right next to you, isn't he? You give him your cell phone, and I have something to tell him."

Curtis stopped saying anything.

Harper's voice got louder. "Benjamin, what do you mean? Why are you keeping me here? If I did do something, you could have just asked me. Even a criminal has the right to explain himself, so am I even worse than a criminal?"
