Easton did not actually want to use those kinds of threats. He was just trying to scare Ellis.

He attempted to keep her confined with force, but she, in her desperation to escape, had no protection, climbing down from a high place to the ground, scaring him half to death. At the same time, he knew that these tactics were useless with her. The only thing they achieved was making her dislike him more..

However, just as she arrived at the company’s entrance, Easton called “Darling, have you gone to work?”

He ignored who she was talking to and just asked directly, “Can you take the day off today? Come with me to the hospital to get some medicine.”

What medicine? Have someone deliver it to you!” Ellis did not believe for a second that Easton needed to go to the hospital for something so trivial. There were plenty of people who would do such things for him.

“I want to see a doctor and pick up some medicine. I think I still have a bit of a fever.” Easton acted pitiful.

“No need to rush. I’ll handle it over the weekend.” She offered a vague excuse, but when she thought about it, it was not entirely a lie. By the weekend, she would definitely kick Easton out, just like he once kicked her out.
